buying military discount tickets - confused!!

Our family is meeting at Disney but coming from both coasts. Our active military member will be getting there a day earlier than the rest of us. He wanted to buy his ticket and go to a park for the day that he will be there earlier than the rest of us...I've read that all must be present to purchase the special 99$ tickets. Does this mean he can't go to the parks the day before, but must wait and get his tickets activated along with ours, or can we buy the passes the next day - still with him, but starting the next day? Further, what if he buys all of the passes on his first day - do we need to be present? It seems like there are a lot of rules, and I am confused!!

I am no expert at this but I think the active millitary member gets a free ticket, doesn't he? He can get his tix the day he arrives or before at his base. He can also buy the vouchers on base for the rest of the family.

Then the next day when you all arrive you should be able to go back and get the $99 tix for the rest of the family, I would think. But you will all need to be present.

Is there someone on base you can call to get more information? Or call Disney and ask? Shades of Green may also know if you can find a number for them.

I'm pretty sure that he can get his ticket and visit the parks the day before you all arrive. He will just need to be present when the rest of you (up to 5 people, I think) buy your tickets, so that he can show his military ID. He will also need to be present when the rest of your activate your tickets.

We used these tickets in May, and I think I'm remembering correctly.. but someone please correct me if any of that was wrong. You could also try calling the ticket hotline at Shades of Green to clarify: (407) 824-1403.
