Buying Maxpass daily?

Hi, I've looked for the answer to this and not found it yet.

I am planning to buy tickets from GAT and I am fairly certain we will want to add Maxpass for all of our days. I know we can add it each day when we get to the park.

My question is- can I add it for all the days at once? Or can I only do it daily?

You'll have to add it daily once you've entered the parks. Make sure you have your cc stored in the app to make it easier.

We did it in March. It was super easy. Once you enter the park, just take a moment to add it!

I added it for us every morning walking into the park after scanning in and had it purchased before we even got to the tunnel. It's that fast and easy to do. Had our first FP booked before we got to Main Street.

I learned last week from a cast member you can go in to city hall and buy for all the days at once.
So....not buy it at the gate and then go to city hall for the rest of the days? For argument sake I have 4 day hoppers. (Haven’t completely ruled out APs, but I will decide before the trip)

City Hall can be a horrible pain. Buy it daily on the app for 2 reasons
1) it takes like 30 seconds to buy if for all your tickets after your group is scanned into the park. There is no way on this earth you will be in and out of City Hall in under 5 mins so time saver!
2) you may not want it all days. Crazy I know but over the few trips I’ve taken since they introduced it I actually found myself not wanting it for a day or 2 each trip. Super glad I didn’t spend the money on it ahead of time!

Thank you, I will just do it daily like you said. We are going July 8-11, so I’m betting that we will need it every day.

Agree with this. We did 3 day hoppers and bought MP for days 1 and 2. After some waffling we bought for day 3 as well, but really MP had allowed us to go on SO. MANY. RIDES. that we were kind of bored of the fastpass rides at that point. So, we really didn't need it or use it on day 3.

If you are fine single ridering it then you can get away without it. I combined regular fast passes for rides without single rider then while waiting did single rider on everything else.

Otherwise Maxpass is the way to go.

I think it’s cheaper to buy tickets from last minute travel club. Find a free code and click through declining their offers. They even offered em $5 membership. I declined and they gave it to me free.

Is it crazy without Maxpass? How much is Maxpass?
Maxpass is $10 per person, per day.

The FP system works as it did before if you don’t have Maxpass (the only difference is that the paper that comes out of the machine is a “reminder” and you scan your park ticket to redeem the FP). So, no, nothing is “crazy” without Maxpass, but Maxpass is a great convenience that makes it much more possible to get a lot done.

Another benefit of Maxpass if that if you are rope drop to late at night with a mid day break type people, which we are, then it's really convenient to have maxpass as you are able to continue to book fastpasses as the windows open during your break in the afternoon. We did this several days where we were at the park from rope drop until say 2PM, went back to the hotel for a break until about 5. We were able to return to the parks and have several fast passes to use upon our return. After I booked a fastpass I'd set a reminder on my phone for when the next window would open up to maximize the number we had when we went back.

I know I should probably read up on this in another thread or something, but how many FP can you hold at once doing this?

There’s no limit to the number you can hold; the limit is how often you can pull a new one... I often have 3 FPs at once; once I had five...

Maybe helpful: https://www.disboards.com/threads/the-answer-to-when-can-i-pull-my-next-fp.3634984/#post-58222160

So, say you leave at 2 and you already have evening FPs for RSR. Then you book an evening GOTG. Then after 90 minutes, you book an evening Soarin’. Then, as you head into the park, you book Goofy’s Sky School... you’d have four then. But the system doesn’t care that you have four; it only ever cares if you’re eligible to pull a new one. Hope that makes sense!
