Once upon a time Nebraska did not allow liquor sales before noon on Sunday's. There is no such crazy rule in Florida is there? We are hoping to stop somewhere for purchases on the way to the Fantasy on a Saturday. We shouldn't have any issues correct? Also what is a good time to request our town car be at the port to take us back to the airport? Thanks....

In Florida you can purchase beer and wine in retail stores, supermarkets and convenience gas stations; however, spirits must be purchased at a package store. Also, alcohol of any kind is not sold by stores on Sundays, nor can any bar, restaurant or any other establishment with a liquor license sell alcohol between the hours of 3 AM and 7 AM on any day of the week

There are countries in Florida that still restrict sales. But not most. Orlando/ Orange County do not.
This changed in Orlando not long ago.

I thought better of your information @PrincessShmoo. :worship: :mic: :guilty:

Shmoo thanks for all the great information you post and the time you take to do it.

Miami has always thought they were better than everyone in Fl. This info is not correct. Lol they want people to think they are the only ones that do
Fl has always done laws by City/County.
Orange County has sold for as long as I recall. Orlando just in the last year and a half or so.
I live on the edge of Orlando/ Orange County. The Publix by my house is in Orlando across the street is an ABC in Orange County. Until the law was changed the ABC could sell on Sunday before 11 and Publix couldn't. Stupid

Thanks for clearing that up.

I agree too!
I was just surprised to see a post contradicting Shmoo's information! She obviously does a lot of research and spend many hours on the boards sharing her wealth of knowledge!

Not only do I remember booze always being available in south and central Florida (with the caveat that I left that state ten years ago), when I lived there you could even buy hard liquor in Walgreens; they regularly had a whole liquor store attached.

Sorry, still confused a bit.

We are embarking on a Sunday. We would like to get some rum and beer before embarkation. Can we buy alcohol on Sunday, before 11 am, and where is the closest place to the port to do so?

Thanks!

Assuming you are departing from PC, this is the place:
