Buying less DDP then the nights stayed

We are staying 7 nights. However, we dont plan on spening all our time in the parks. Can we buy only 5 nights worth of dining?

Also, do you really save any money or is it just convenience?

No, you can't purchase less nights -- unless you book by making 2 reservations. A 5 night reservation, and then a 2 night reservation. (which may require changing rooms).

As to saving money, it really depends how you use it. Most people would spend less without the plan. (because they wouldn't normally eat everything that is included in the plan).
But if you order everything that is included in the plan -- you might save some money, or lose money. Depending what you order. Get a $30 steak, or $37 buffet, you will save money. Order a $12 sandwich, or $15-20 breakfast ts, and you will lose money.

Some people find ddp convenient -- prepayment. Some people see it as inconvenient -- keeping track of credits, separate tips oop, inability to order an appetizer as your meal.

You don't need to use the DDP solely in the parks. There are plenty of great restaurants at the resorts.

And you also don't have to split the DDP credits among the 7 nights. You can use as many or little each day as you please. So if you want to use them all up in 5 nights instead of 7 you can. For example, 7 TS credits don't have to be 1 TS each night. You can use 2 TS one day (ie, TS breakfast and TS dinner), or 3 TS one day (breakfast, lunch, dinner), or even none one day.

also a couple of Signature dining meals(2ts credits) will burn up the extra days of credits. The signatures is the main reason we get the deluxe plan. Lets us eat 1 ts for breakfast or lunch then a late dinner at a resort signature each nioght. lets us experience the best at the resorts(better food than parks)
