HI i live in Ontario Canada.
I wanted to buy an Omega constellation watch from a store named European Jeweller. An asian sales rep gave me an "automatic" 25% off. However she unwilling to give me further discount, saying 'will lose license if she reduce any $"

Even if i say i pay cash , give me 30 % instead of 25%, she still said the same thing. Let's say the price is $2500 after tax and the 25% discount.

I gonna have a go again tomorrow. Maybe suggest 2400 or something .

What things would you suggest me to say ? " come on , no ? let me talk to your mgr , its just 100$ off !"

Thanks
TC

Markup is huge. I can't tell you how to negotiate - because different places work differently.

I would say flat out "what is the best deal you can give me on this watch" If it's her same 25%- have some online prices of the watch you are looking at. Make it clear that you will WALK if you don't get a better price.

I don't know watch markups but I do know that diamond pieces often have a 300% markup!:scared1:

Certain brands allow retail sellers to discount only up to a certain percent. If it is not an old or discontinued model, the discount is usually firm. I was about to get the constellation in two tones with the diamonds but ended up getting a (more expensive) ebel and the discount was firm. I did buy it duty free in the caribbean. You should try contacting the 800 number for jewels at a. H. Rise in st thomas to see what they quote you for a duty free price and discount. Imo the discount she offered you was fair and likely set by omega.
