Buying in to DVC??

We are thinking of owning ourselves a little piece of the magic

I was wondering if Disney gives you any deals on staying on property to check out the DVC? We are talking about doing the Half marathon next January so that's when we will be there to look further into it. We don't really know too much about the DVC but we still have some time until then too learn. TIA!

Deals meaning???

You can sign up for the tour while you are there but they don't give you any discounts on your rooms or anything. You might get some fast passes or a meal voucher but that is about it.

No, Disney doesn't discount the rooms for prospective DVCers. If I were you, I would check out renting some points from a member for a five night stay - Sunday through Thursday. But do it quick, Marathon week will book VERY fast, if it hasn't already.

Or you could probably get a AAA rate on a value or moderate for room only. And then go take the DVC tour.

DVC might give you a meal voucher for taking the tour, but I don't know? We bought by phone
