Buying groceries

OK, lots of people talk about buying groceries in Orlando for snacks, breakfasts, etc. We're going to have a timeshare, so we'll have a kitchen to work with, but I don't really want to spend my time and energy cooking.

What do you all buy for snacks and breakfasts while you're there? I don't want to resort to cold cereal with milk every morning or peanut butter & jelly sandwiches every lunch. I also want to have something vaguely healthy to counteract all the fast-food and junk going into our bodies elsewhere. I'm planning to eat nearly every breakfast at the timeshare, and probably four lunches (when we go back to swim, nap and recharge).

My kids will be 4-3/4 and 7 at the time of travel.

Thanks for any tips from the experienced!

I would get some fruit, yogurt, muffins, bread (for toast & sandwiches), cold cuts. Have some snacks also pretzels, chips, cookies. And if the has a microwave you can even get some of those "hot pockets" to heat up.

we like to keep cheese and crackers, microwave popcorn, lunch meat, fresh fruit, yogurt, soft drinks, cereals and pop tarts.

You could do some really easy stuff like manwiches or spaghetti too. Not too time consuming and a little different from sandwiches. We usually stay at FW Cabins and eat most of our dinners there. Since we drive I freeze stuff before we go so its easy to have something pretty good without much trouble.

We do fruits, cheeses, crackers, nuts, bagels, muffins., cottage cheese. Also, instant cream of wheat or rice & instant oatmeal. Eng muffin pizzas are a quick snack.
Fast lunches or dinners: pan fried or broiled fish, a veg & couscous or Near East rice; to fancy up Ragu add Italian sausage chunks & bell peppers & ground beef or left over rotisserie chicken; rotisserie chicken, instant mashed (can add cheese & scallions) & veg & bakery rolls...
we make full breakfasts--hash browns(frozen), bacon & eggs & juice or 'fruity' breakfasts--
Hope this helps

Boca burgers or garden burgers would be an easy and healthy alternative to pbjs. My ds4 loves original boca burgers. As I'm saying this, I realize that you may not want to fix burgers at the timeshare when there are soooo many burger places in the parks.

Kraft Easy Mac is also a super easy way to fix a fast, warm lunch entree. The single serve pouches are the perfect size for a kid.

Stoufers french bread pizzas or similar products would be quick/easy lunch.

It's nice that you have a full kitchen with fridge/freezer. You can take advantage of all the nice easy frozen foods. Have fun.

We timeshare as well. We don't cook anything complicated, but we do find it more restful to do most of our dinners in the room than to keep the two youngest seated while we wait to be served in a restaurant.

We hit Sams as soon as we get to town and stock up. We buy a couple of frozen entrees (Stouffers lasagna is one of our favorites), party type foods like pizza rolls and mini quiches, frozen heat and eat chicken (good on salads as well as alone), etc. We might also bake chicken and potatoes and things like that. We have lots of things that just require a loaf of bread and a salad to be dinner. We also bring the typical kids food like mac & cheese, canned Spaghettios, etc.

We always do breakfast in the room and some lunches as well. Sandwiches or leftovers are good for lunch. I bring a muffin tin and the packages of muffins that just require you add milk. The kids prefer Chocolate Chip and I usually bring some since we're on vacations. I am usually the first one up anyway, so it's painless to throw these on while the others get up and moving.
