Buying Gift Cards outside of the US?

I had no idea what forum to post this in so sorry if it's in the wrong one.

I'm trying to purchase e gift cards in US $ from the disney store US website but my CC keeps getting rejected.
I've tried 3 cards, all rejected, I've tried using my VPN and still rejected.

Does anyone know how I can purchase e gift cards in US $ from Australia? I am trying to send to a friend in the USA.

I ended up getting it to work by paying with PayPal
