Hypothetically speaking....

Could someone buy someone else's room keys off of them at the end of their stay and use that FOTL for themselves? ie, if you were checking out on day X and I was planning on going into the park on day X, could I buy your room keys, go in the park and use them myself? The room keys have names, but the entry tickets are not coded to name, so I would think this could be a way to get FOTL w/out staying on site.

I know someone will flame me for this one.... :furious:

this is something I believe would be frowned on by the hotel. I would not do it but that is just me. My personal opinion it is a very bad idea . you never know what kind of problems could be created.

Have a nice day.

I think most patrons realize that if this practice becomes popular, the perk of FOTL with your hotel key will disappear.

Sure I'll sell you mine for $1000.00...CASH

I'll meet you at Margaritaville. I will be the one with a red carnation. You slip me the cash and the keys are yours. All small unmarked bills please :rotfl2:

OHHHHH I have an even better idea....why not just stay at an on site hotel and it"s included. :lmao:

Call me a prude but I would never do this. First, most keys have charging privs, then the person's name is on the key. Now don't get me wrong I know most people wouldn't cause a problem but I wouldn't want the worry. Most importantly, I feel that front of the line is a real perk from staying onsite and is the main reason I pay the higher price. If this were to be common practice the priv might be pulled. Sorry but my keys will go home with me.
Any other opinions from others?

If you're going to "buy" the key, why not just buy an express plus pass and not try to buck the system?????

still got that suit on??

once the person has checked out of the room, there are no more charging priviledges thru that room key. it is only valid for fotl. no one could take advantage of using another person's room key financially.

but really, this is something we don't like to hear on the universal threads.
cheating the system just isn't our thing here. i am taking your question as posted. you are not asking for yourself but one of those, what if questions.
i'm not gonna flame you over this. just kidding about the suit remark.

anytime a guest uses their room key at the park for fotl, the staff member can ask for an id for proof. it just isn't worth the consequences.

if you want to get the most of your trip, start early in the day and eat at off times.
if the park is super crowded then at that point buy the epp for the rest of that park day. if you started early and bought the epp at noon, you will have the opportunity to enjoy it all.

i like to cut back on expenses on my trips.
i read the threads to find out how i can best do what i want and not pay out the wazoo for it.
staying in the low/value season is one advantage when staying on site.
also, the epp is probably cheaper at those dates, but then, the parks are at a lower crowd level.

ps........i think you can talk goofie4goofy down on that amount. :rotfl2:

thanks all....I don't think I would EVER have the guts to try something like that, just didn't know if someone actually had ever done that or have the moxie to do that!

we have too many people for one rooms worth of keys and have a house offsite...we are planning on getting to the US parks before opening, riding everything we can get on to before 11 am and then seeing whatever we want the rest of the day. I don't expect us to have a problem w/our real plan and if the crowds are bad, yes, we will buy an Express Pass.

THANKS for all playing along!

I'm not going to get into the morality of the situation, but I'm positive it's been done before. I've seen people swap resort cards to other people.
