Buying Extra Magic Bands

A few questions about where to buy extra magic bands. Does the Disney Store ever sell anything beyond the basic magic band colors on line? I have seen several really cute character bands being sold online but I think they are from secondary resellers and I am not crazy about dealing with a reseller.

Do the gift shops in the resorts have a good selection of these special bands? Is there one location that is better than others for a wider selection? How about a local Disney Store?

Thank you so much for posting this thread...never knew it existed. We bought character magic bands for my kids when we were there in January (Anna and Baymax/Hero) and DH said that he and I should get a couple character ones too so we could just keep reusing those. He really wanted a Mickey Mouse one but didn't like the Sorcerer Mickey style, I think he will like the Americana one instead (even the Grumpy one he may like too). I am hoping he is still out when we are there in October, because I can see this being only out for the 4th of July.
