Buying DVC from abroad

I live in Italy and I am a big Disney fan. I visit Disneyland Paris every other year and I've loved WDW during my visit in 2009 (except my value resort) and I'll be there again in January.
I am considering buying some DVC points, not a big amount, in order to use them every 2 or 3 years.
I have made my homework reading all threads here, so I should have a good idea about pros and cons.
But what I've not read anywhere is an opinion from someone who bought it from abroad, like me. Have you encountered any problem (buying resale)?
I am concerned a little about immigration. I know that this is not a real estate, it's pre-paid vacation, but what may think an immigration officer if I visit often the USA and own a timeshare? Have anyone experienced any problem about this?

About renting points: I don't think I'll do it, I'm already planning a vacation to DL and then another one in Orlando when new Fantasyland will be complete, and then again for Avatar land and the new Harry Potter land in IOA. Since I do not plan to buy many points, I think I'll be able to use all my points without any problem.
But if in the future I'll want to do so, will I have problems with taxes? I do not have any income in the USA, how much is a problem to pay taxes on rented points? If I have to pay a consultant only to pay a few dollars I think any advantage would be lost.

Thank you for any input you might have, and please excuse me if I made any mistake, english is not my first language. :)

You may get more replies if you put this in the UK Discussion thread.

Timeshare rules for the uk are different than other european countries.

If you want to buy direct from Disney you can only do it AT disney. Meaning you have to be in Florida, California or on DCL.
If you want resale, you can purchase from home through one of the resale companies.

For what it's worth, I am from Australia, bought at AKL back in 2008 (whilst at WDW) and have never had a problem with immigration or the like. We are planning to add-on via re-sale at some time in the future and will do it from home electronically.
I'm sure that there are different rules for differenr countries, but this is our experience, for what it's worth! Good buying!

We bought AKV in 2008 and have had no problems with immigration. I am not sure that they are even aware that we own a time-share as on the ESTA you just give them the name of the hotel and how long you will be staying in the US.
