HELP

WITH THE EXCHANGE RATE DROPPING AND I NOW HAVE SPEENDING MONEY TOGETHER WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE TO GET EXCHANGED INTO DOLLARS
WE DONT GO UNTIL DECEMBER
HAVING ONLY EVER BOUGHT IT FROM THE TRAVEL AGENTS THE WEEK BEFORE WE GO BEFORE :confused3

I usually get my currencey from M&S they tend to be the best rate & there is no commission:thumbsup2

I used fairfx to order my travel money they where great and arrived next day, they usually have a very good exchange rate.

This isn't a complete list of places but it's a good starting point:

I bought mine from Cheque Centre (chequecentre.com has a store locator) as their rate was the highest on the high street that I could find at the time, better than M&S/post office/any of the travel agents. I think there are similar places elsewhere; chains that do cheque cashing, pawning and the like usually do currency exchange aswell.

Must Say We Favour The Cheque Centre Too:thumbsup2 Yes They Do Have Better Rates Than The Ta's & P/O Etc:)

I ordered mine from the Post Office and it arrived this morning, I love the way I don't need to drag, 2 kids into town to pick it up. Although I will keep the above link as I will need to order some more at some point before we go when I have the money saved up.

I always use M & S or Tesco, both have always had very good rates and dont charge commission.

Tesco you actually earn clubcard points.

I got mine sometime ago (when the rate was basically $2) for a trip in November and while all the TA's etc were 1.90 - 1.91 Tesco was 1.95. Not a huge difference once, but you add up but why should you lose out, try and get the best you can. Every penny counts!

I'm not going until August 2009 but don't feel the rate will improve. I have just got $1.83 from Travel Money Services and I'm happy with that. I've never used them before but took advice from Dis'ers soI hope you are right!!:thumbsup2

I got some when the rate was $2 but wanted to get a little more as we have extended our stay by 3 nights so I just got some more added to my fairfx card at 1.8425 as I fear it is going to continue to drop. :sad2:
