Buying Disney GCs at Walgreens w/ Walgreens GC

i have enough points with MyPoints to redeem for a $50 Walgreens gift card. Back in October I was able to successfully purchase a $20 Disney gift card (the one where you select the amount) with a small item at the register (bottle of water maybe) and pay using a $25 Walgreens gift card. Has anyone been able to do this lately? I'd like to buy two $25 gift cards for my kids and then buy a little something else and pay using the $50 GC and the rest on my debit card but I don't want to be stuck with a Walgreens GC if it won't work.

If it is a Walgreens giftcard, I have had luck. If it is a Walgreens store credit, it does not allow you to make the transaction. That is my experience.
