Buying Disney GC online for points?

On ebates, I have received the cash back on gift card purchases. My last purchase was January of this year.

They dont.. I ordered a $200 gc last month though them and did not get anything back.

I bought $100 worth through the Disney Store via Mypoints & earned points for them. It was near X-mas when they were giving 10pt per dollar so I got 1000 points.

it depends is the real answer. I got credit for $50 and under ones on Sunshine & my points. Once I went over $50 I didn't get credit. So I think if you have time to spread them out and stay under a certain $ amount that you'll likely get credit.

It may be one of those ymmv thing. None of them are s apposed to being giving anything back so it may be a glitch.

Years ago they all gave a % back or points back.

I just checked Upromise and you earn 3% cashback when you click through their site...it says it right on the Disneystore merchant description that you can buy giftcards. Upromise is great!

Thanks I totally forgot I had a upromise account. Can you use the upromise money to buy the GC on the upromise webstie or do you order a check and then buy it?

Ebates does not have an exclusion on their site if you order through DisneyShopping.com I ordered $425 in early January and got my credit back.

You would go onto Ebates then click on the Disneystore.com link then purchase giftcards through the Disney website. Ebates does not have a special area to purchase giftcards, they allow you to purchase directly through some vendors.

I ordered $500 or $600 worth of GC's through Ebates in June 2009 and did not get the credit. I specifically questioned it afterwards via email they responded that they do not pay on gift cards for Disney.

It may be that they manually check orders to see if they include gift cards and some get through.

I have received cash back on Disney GC in the past; as recently as December 2009.
But the official answer is Disney does not offer cash back on GC.
I have also heard of Disney coming back and revoking the credits paid on GC. When shopping for GC through rewards programs, you are only guaranteed cash back if the merchant is on the official GC cash back list. So, YMMV.

I guess you would have to request the check OR (to get a bit more $$) if you also have a credit card maybe pay for the giftcard with that to also get those rewards and then pay your credit card with your upromise check amount...
sounds like the other sites are YMMV paying out the rewards so I think I would go with Upromise. Good luck!
