Buying Direct Price Increase

Hi Everyone...

I had a message left today for me from our guide. He has been trying to get us to buy direct points since we first spoke to him. Anyway I have not had a chance to call him back. He mentioned a price increase has already been approved for Jan 1 in the new year. I am not sure if this is a sales technique or not, but if you are considering buying direct you may want to call and ask, or hurry up with your decision!

have to agree DVD Dude it would appear so! Wait and see what the price goes up to i guess. He also mentioned Animal Kingdom is almost sold out and they expect that to be gone shortly in the new year as well.

I'm not sure how much your considering direct vs resale but keep this in mind... After you buy and get hooked on the resorts your only regret is going to be not initially purchasing more points. With the difference in price you can purchase 2-3 time the amount of resale points vs direct.

Our scenario was the we were sold on a DVC cruise and purchased 160 points. When we got home I spent 2 days researching to make sure we made the right decision. That is when we learned about resale. We spent $8000 less and purchased 250 points vs 160. Then we loved it so much the footing year we bought an additional 190 points.

I wouldn't be surprised if prices went up soon and the first of the year seems like a good date. I wouldn't let him pressure you into a direct purchase though. We took the risk of the 5 dollar increase when we bought a small add on at VGF S we wanted to look around and really make sure before spending the money. Luckily they held the previous price for us as they can't sell to us where we live so we would have had to wait until we get to Orlando anyway but we didn't know that. It is a lot of money and worth being sure before you buy
