When buying direct and paying "cash", how do they ask you to pay? Cashier's Check, Money Order, Wire Transfer? I bet it's too much to hope they would let you pay with a Disney Visa Credit Card.

Actually - they let you put it on your Disney credit Card, and give you 6 months with no interest. I have added on Direct, this way.
It's quick & easy, but not painless ('cuz the price is high)!

Yes, or any credit card. It coded as travel, so I got 3x points on my Chase Sapphire Reserve. Disney Visa gives 6 months no interest. So just choose the card with the best incentives (and credit limit).

OR you can apply for a 18 month interest free cc and charge your direct purchase on that. Usually these don’t come with rewards points but heck I liked having 18 months to pay off my expensive purchase. Perhaps it might even allow you to buy more points up front. I definitely wish I did this instead of the Disney Visa card since the 6 month mark is coming up fast.

Woo hoo! I am so excited! Thank you so much!

Ask for extended payment terms as well.

You should only need to put down $1000-$2000 on the CC to lock in the contract, then ask for $1000-$2000 payments at 30 days and 60 days with the remainder being charged at 90 days.

You really can get 90 days before most of the contact is due and another 6 months on the Disney VISA.

By stretching down payment plus payments at 30 and 60 days charged to your Disney Visa, as mentioned above, 6 months becomes 9 and then transfer any remaining balance to a 0 for 18 (or whatever the best offer you can get is), you can pretty easily get 2+ years.

I plan on buying 25 points add on after my resale contract is complete.
You can pay with any credit card for a direct purchase?
Yes you can pay with any credit card. If you have a Disney visa you get 6 months no interest financing automatically. And if you have the premiere version you get 2% back in Disney rewards. 1% for the regular card.

Can you split the payment across different cards if you don’t have enough credit limit on a single card for the whole price?

Yes.. for Disney visa it maxes out at $10k per day I believe so they have to break it up to separate transactions. Direct sales will pretty much accommodate however you want to pay it feels like.

You can also ask to break the payments over a period of time. For example, put $10K on Disney Visa on Day 1 and then 30 days later put another $10K on Disney Visa.

Good Luck!

Thanks, we were super convinced yesterday we were buying resale and today we are flip flopping on maybe doing direct instead because we really do like Riviera, so I find myself needing to learn more about how direct works.... man this decision is killing me.

We just added on direct at Copper Creek. We were initially flip-flopping as well. If you are picking a use year that is close to April, you might be able to get points for the current/soon to be last year's use year points. My contracts all have the same March Use Year. I signed the paperwork in March and I received both use year points. That's what tipped me back to buying direct. Good Luck!

I just had $14k today charged for my direct purchase so I think it depends on your credit limit. I have the Disney premiere visa so not sure if that makes a difference.
