My DH wants to buy a Sony Digital camera. They cost around £350.

The question is, should we wait until we get there or but here before we go,

Does anyone know if digital cameras are cheaper in the US and a good place to get one in Orlando?

Hi
Try this website www.ritzcamera.com these shops are in the malls around orlando it will give you an idea on how much they are,if you shop around you may find it cheaper over here, hope it will help you,

Good Luck.

You may well find that cameras and other 'compact' electronic goods are no cheaper than they are in the UK. I would check out kelkoo.co.uk for a rough guide on pricing, and remember Jessops (and other high street retailers) offer internet price matching - useful if you are cautious about buying online.

I would rather buy in the UK. You will get a charger with a UK plug as well! Plus, you wont miss several days of 'Kodak Moments' until you find a shop in Florida.

To check best prices in USA you could try Dealtime . From the brief look I've had I would agree with GO2209's comments.

i bought a sony digital camera mail order from the uk for our trip last year

i could have bought it much cheaper in usa but only mail order again and you need an address to send it too - far too much hassle

another consideration is warranty - particulary for the sony cameras - usa warranty isn't covered in the uk

I don't know about cameras, but before we went out at the beginning of this month, I ordered a GPS from Amazon.com and had the package delivered direct to my hotel. This was waiting for me to pick up when I arrived, and I paid £106 in the US rather than £180 in the UK. I only went ahead because the product had a worldwide warranty, so you'd need to confirm that before you go ahead. Another point is that, by ordering on the internet from a US internet supplier, you don't pay the sales tax which you would if you bought it over the counter. It's definitely worth looking into!

Savings can be made in the US but you have to not buy from the touristy areas.

BTW Sony have an international warrenty available at no extra cost you just have to make sure that you ask for the correct paperwork. I have bought at least 3 sonys from the states and had no problem.

To be honest it would be easier to but from the UK.
