We will be attending the Food and Wine Festival for the first time. If I find a wine or beer I really like can I purchase bottles of it and have it shipped home? OR if they change the current issues with liquids on the airplane can I buy some to carry on with me? Would rather ship to avoid lugging heavy bottles....
Thanks for sharing your experience with this.

Also about how much does a glass of wine or beer cost?

As far as having beer/wine shipped to your home, you need to check the laws of your state. Some allow this, some don't.

Typically, a sample of wine is $2-3, sometimes more. This is a small sample, not much more than a couple of sips. Beer is often available in 6oz cups at about the same price.

As of right now you cannot carry it on

Disney may not ship it, but you could possibly take it to a UPS store and they would probably do that or at least pack it to be checked under the plane.

However, make sure it's not one you can buy at home. Most of them are selling things that they market all over the US.

All of the wine you can taste at the F&W Festival is available for purchase, if not nearby at festival HQ (near the Fountainview Cafe). They will indeed ship it for you, just like any other Disney purchase, if you ask!

Be sure to check and see if it's allowed to be shipped to your home in your state. Unless they changed it in the past couple of years, TX won't allow it. (I tried to sigh up for a wine club and TX was one of the few states unavailable due to state law) :guilty:

FYI-The law in Texas was revised last year. My husband and I joined two wine clubs last December when we were in Napa, and we have not had any problems getting our wine shipped.

It seems like there was a new federal law or supreme court decision interstate wine sales, too. Here's something I found on Texas:

Oh! I'll be on the phone to Cakebread ASAP tomorrow morning! I grew up in Northern CA, and couldn't believe they wouldn't let me ship wine out to TX when I moved here! Now I can't even take bottles home in my carry-on when I visit (the screeners must have made SO much fun of me- "Look at THIS alcholic!!) I'm glad I can just have it shipped!! Thanks for the info!

Thats great news! I was worried about how I might take it onboard my flight :cool1:

When we were there in December we had a wine we loved in Germany. We asked about shipping it home and couldn't and were very disappointed. My brother did some detective work when we got home and found out we could get it at our local wine store and it was cheaper! So even if you can't get it shipped, be sure to write down the name and ask locally.
