Ok so you wise people have convinced me to buy resale.

We are predominantly going to stay at Disneyland but buying in there is so expensive compared to OKW or HH. I have ruled out HH because I am not too interested in owning so far from the park as eventually we would like to do WDW more frequently.

So is it totally stupid to buy 150 pts at OKW when we plan to use them at Disneyland mostly, at least for the first few years? The only reason I am even considering it is because with my husband being self employed our travel timelines are pretty flexible-there will never be a week we HAVE to go so we should be able to work within the 7 month timeline.

It's just hard to swallow paying almost double for a difference in booking ability, you know?

Thanks for your help :)

You have to consider that you may never find openings at the 7 month mark to stay at Villas at Grand California. It is a small resort, and many are finding that it fills at 11 months, and certainly by the 7 month mark.

That plus the fact that you cannot trade out with a resale any more, makes it very important to be happy with staying at your home resort. After all, that is all your contract will guarantee - the ability to stay at your home resort at 11 months..

If you want to stay primarily at Disneyland as you state, then definitely buy at VGC!

I agree, I would buy at VGC in your situation!

By buying resale, you will not be able to use them at Paradise Pier or Disneyland Hotel either.

You might enjoy staying at OKW, but it won't be DL. If you want DL, you have to own DL.

I have to agree with others here. You may be disappointed on being able to get reservations in VGC at the 7 month mark.

I'd look for a smaller resale at VGC, and add on later.
