Buying AP's on a blockout date....

I have some friends in SoCal that are seriously considering getting the SoCal Select AP and joining us on the Saturday that we're in the parks, which would be a blockout date for that pass. If they purchase their AP on that day, will they get access to the parks and bypass the blockout?

Yes, they just need to tell the ticket agent that they want to go into the parks so that they can get a blockout pass.

Can they get the blockout pass if they buy their passes online and print out E-tickets and go straight to the turnstiles, or do they have to just head straight to the ticket booth?

If they go to the turnstile they'll get a ticket and have to go to the ticket booth later to get the actual AP. If they go to the ticket booth they'll get the actual AP and print out with the one day exception. It really depends when they want to go to the ticket booth.

agreed, thats what we do if we want to start our AP during a blackout time. I get 3 day hoppers and use them for the blacked out weekend and I use the magic morning and then upgrade.

Yes, that is the easiest way to start an AP. Buy online and take the voucher to the gate. They will need to go to the ticket booths on that same day and get everything taken care of, preferably before hopping into the other park We started our APs in June 2014 on a Saturday. They gave us a blackout pass (looked like a large receipt) at the ticket booth that we used that Saturday when park hopping. Our AP card worked for discounts and FP. All CM involved were very helpful during the process.
