Hi! I am obsessing over when and where to buy my AP for my first trip ever (to get the discounts, dontcha know!)

I haven't been to the Orlando airport before. Is the place at the airport where you purchase the AP the same place for Magical Express pickup?

Thanks, Dobie

I haven't used Magical Express before, but I purchased my AP at the Disney store in the airport. It's on floor (2nd floor) before you go down to pick up your luggage. It takes about 15-20 minutes from start to finish :) I found it was faster to buy an AP from guest services in Downtown Disney.

HTH!

I just put a posting over on the transporation forum. Someone there gave me a map and the phone #. I called the store today and you can get an activated AP pass right there. No voucher though so it starts that day - that was fine by me, one less line to walk thru!!

I bought my AP at the EarPort store back in December. I was the first customer in line and it only took about 20 minutes, though the CM I was dealing with seemed to be taking his sweet ole' time and could have moved a little faster.

I enjoyed getting my AP at the airport mainly because Downtown Disney tends to be chaos. But it was also a nessecity, because I wound up not renting a car on that trip (what a pain!), so I would have had to make a side trip to a park or DD to get my AP before I checked in, since I didn't have a voucher.

If at all possible, just do it at the parks.

Takes less than five minutes, and since there is no discount there is little point to schlep around the Airport.

Any ticket window can help you.

Most people need it before they check into the hotel - if they got an AP discount.

My DH bought an activated AP at the Earport in January. We needed it for check-in at the resort. As it happened, we passed by the Earport on the way from our arrival gate to baggage claim so it didn't take us out of our way at all. DH stopped in to buy his AP and I carried on to baggage claim. I don't remember how long it took for him to buy the AP, but he had joined me in baggage claim a minute or so before the first of our bags appeared on the conveyor belt so it didn't delay us at all. Overall, it was fairly painless buying the AP at the Earport at MCO.
