Buying AP and using in a year.

I plan on buying an AP this next month, but won't start using it till 2017. I already have an 8 day pass on my MDE account. Do I have to connect the AP to my MDE, or am I able to wait till I've used the 8day pass?

Linking the AP will not activate it.
That must be done in-person.

Even tho Disney says they can prioritize the tickets, I don't want to use the AP till after I have used the 8 day tkt this Oct. I plan to upgrade the 8 day to 10 day PH.

You can link the AP voucher to your MDE account.

You can't "accidentally use it," if you don't physically go to a ticket booth or Guest Relations and activate it.

You CAN'T "accidentally use it," if you don't physically go to a ticket booth or Guest Relations and activate it.

Until you do that step, it's just a VOUCHER and a voucher can't be used to enter a park.

I've been using MDX for My Disney Experience since cast members use it, and it's easier to distinguish from DME.

The reason I don't use "MDX" is because in
a predomination of other acronyms in the USA, the "X" stands for "express."

It is far more rare to see a singular "X" represent "experience."

(It IS rather common for the word "experience" to be graphically presented as "eXperience" in logos, etc.)
