Buying annual passes in Delaware?

I'm not sure of the legal wranglings, but Disney does charge FLA sales tax on park admission media no matter where you purchase. This isn't all that different from ordering movie tickets on-line and picking them up at the theater. I think it has something to do with the fact that all you're really buying is a piece of paper. Consumption of the 'product' is still done in FLA.

interesting topic - my guess would be no you don't pay sales tax in Delaware whether the product is consumed in Delaware or not. For example, I buy beer in Delaware and they always ask for my drivers license number which is in NJ. They don't charge me sales tax, even though it will be consumed in NJ.

It is interesting NH also does not have sales tax but you pay Florida tax on Disney tickets EXCEPT at AAA they do not charge the tax, no clue why. But that is where I got mine.

Aw man, I thought I would get a break. Thanks for all the replies! I'll try anything to save a buck or two. Disney is too expensive not to try save here and there.;)

Nope! Tried it! I live about 30 minutes from DE and was going to drive to Concord Mall in Wilmington for an annual pass....when I called to order the vouchers...it was one of the things the women told me right away over the phone! She must get it a lot! I told her to forget it and send it to King of Prussia instead...

Primax...it is illegal to take liquor purchased in one state across state line into another states to consume...if you purchase in DE you are suppose to consume it in DE...it usually isn't enforced but if they stop you they can take the booze and in PA fine you something like $100.00 per bottle. Every once in awhile they pull people over on RT 202 between DE and PA just for this purpose...

I live in Delaware and you still pay the Florida sales tax.

Beyond the legalities, you can still consume booze in DE. You can't consume a WDW AP in DE...just buy it and show it off. :)

I will confirm - Delaware ticket prices does include the 6.5% tax in the price.

No matter which DS you go in, you are charged the FL sales tax. The vouchers are no longer "ordered," we actually have the shells on hand to activate. Then you turn them in at the park for the annual pass.
We still have to order the DL passes. Note: West Coast stores are probably the opposite.

Just to give an update...
I just purchased AVPs for my Family in MD via the internet and was charged 6.5% tax. Not sure but I thought FL sales tax was 6%. I sent an email to request that the charge be explained.

The state sales tax is 6%. Individual counties in Florida can (and do!) charge an additional percentage on top of that. I may have these backwards, but I believe Orange County is and additional .5% (hence the 6.5% you were charged) and Osceola County charges an additional 1% to bring the tax up to 7%.
