Buying and selling and renting

An update to the AKV points I had listed with dvcrentalsrore.com. I removed the points from them and listed with dvcrequest.com and rented them and paid within 24 hours for $18. dvcrequest.com charges renters $23 /pt and pays members $18. dvcstore.com charges renters $21 and pays members $17. Prior to the reduced pricing on dvcrentalstore.com they charged renters $26 and paid members $18, now they charge renters $22 and pay members $14. All of these are for 7-11 months at premium resorts { not SSR, OKW,VB, HHI}excluding BCV and GCV.
IF dvcrentalstore.com has such an imbalance points from members wanting to rent and demand, why I am getting emails daily from them that they have open listing and wanting me to rent my points with them??
To me some of the problem is with dvcrentalstore.com in that they had such higher rental prices than others. They cut their prices but all the cut was to members ,not their share. They are finding higher demand at the cut prices but the only ones feeling the reduced prices are members.
Jesus that’s a terrible commission rate from dvcrentalstore.com. 8/22 is nearly 37% going to the broker.. smh

Thank you for posting about your experience.

If you go to DVCRentalstore.com and you look at the listings which Owners can claim as of 02/26/2023 (you must be signed in to see them), you will see that they currently are paying owners:

Listings less than 7 months out:
Owners get $12 per point.

Listings which are more than 7 months out:
Owners get $18 per point for some
But Owners only get $14 per point for others, including VGF, CCV, AKV, BLT, and Riviera.
They even have some on there for $12 per point.

DVCRentalStore.com has made a decision to lower prices, presumably in an attempt to increase Guest demand. This may result in Owners deciding not to use their services. Only time will tell.

Thank you sharing your analysis and voting with your feet to move your business to another broker. I hope more will follow suit. Getting $12-14/pt may not even cover dues (depending on the resort) after the government takes it's cut (granted, I live in California which is a notoriously high tax state, but still...).

Just prior to the rate reduction, I had some family/friends back out of an upcoming WDW trip , and I was able to get all of my VGF/BLT excess points rented through dvcrentalstore.com at the full 7-12 month $18/pt rate. The overall renting experience was excellent and smooth. I would happily rent with them again, but not as long as long as owners are getting short shrift with these sad/slashed rates.

Because, it sounds better to say we have a ton of inventory and can only pay $14 dollars per point,

Instead of,

We want to make more margin, so we will only pay 14/point

I agree and don't tell me you have too much inventory to rent without lowering price and then ask me for more inventory to give you, so I make less and you make the same as before!!
