Buying and Borrowing Points - And Changing Later

I have learned you can buy up to 24 points at the 7 month mark via telephone with Member Services only. Could you please help me understand how this might work in this scenerio.

I have 60 points to use for a 3 night stay at the Poly. I want to go during a season where it might cost me 75 points. I'm using 60 points from my current year. Although I know I can borrow from next year's points, I'd prefer to purchase points through Member Services. At the 11 month mark, can I book the trip by borrowing ahead (so I get all 3 days reserved) BUT contact Member Services at the 7 month mark to "unborrow" those 15 extra points and purchase them via Member Services? Or can you not "unborrow" points?

You can not return borrowed points. It is a final transaction. They did make an exception during this past year due to pandemic. But that is ending April 30th.

In addition they can only be purchased for a new reservation and can’t replace nights made during the home resort period. There would have to be rooms still there in order to purchase and use.

Book at least 2 of the 3 days you want at Poly now and then try to add the third with OTU points and whatever points you have left at the the 7 mo window. Then MS can link the two reservations together.
