Hi,

I need to get a booster seat for my son - seems crazy to pay $70 to rent one from Avis when I can buy one for a fraction of the price.

So question is, where is the most convenient place to get a cheap, functional booster seat near DLR. I'll have the car and can leave son with wife whilst I drive off to the best store.

Thanks

Tony

I believe there is a Target in the area. I couldn't tell you where but I remember seeing one when I was checking a map of the area. If you googled the location I bet you could find it and directions from your hotel.

If you are flying in you can bring one from home and carry it with you on the plane and they won't charge you any extra. That might be easier than trying to buy one once you've landed.

Many thanks, especially for the reference to big lots. Didn't know of them, and there's a store just along Katella from the resort.

How old is your son? Do you need an infant seat or a booster seat (very different things) either way I'd gate check one from home. For our last 2 trips it's been just the 3 (1 A 2 K) of us (I'm saying that to show you that it can be done). DD uses a Cosco Scenera as her travel seat (but she's gonna outgrow it soon) she sits in it on the plane. From now on I will gate check a (backless) booster for her. You can check a child safety seat in checked luggage but I wouldn't, what if it get's lost or damaged???

There are both a Target and a Walmart near the hotels. See this map -- the Walmart is up towards the top and the Target is near the bottom.

2 Questions....

1. Infant or booster seat? How old is your child?

2. Are you getting rental car from airport? Is so, you child will need a carseat right away, and it would be easiest to check it at the gate.

Thank you to all who have answered the question I asked.

For those of you concerned with other matters, thanks for asking but believe me I have considered all options!

I am in the same boat. We are traveling with DD 4 and DD 9 months. So I am taking the car seat for DD 9 months on the plane and packing the boaster in the suit case. The boaster is small and compact that I hope it does not take up to much space.
