buying an AP 12 days before arrival...

Not sure if I understand what you are asking, but if you are asking if you can buy an AP now and not have it be activated until you get there then the answer is yes. When you purchase your AP you will actually get a exchange certificate then when you get to WDW you go to a gues realtions counter at any park and they will activate it for you and give you your actual AP. They will also gather all sorts of info from you like your name and address. This way if the pass were to get lost you simply go to guest relations with a valid ID and they will reissue your AP. HTH!

Keep in mind that DDE takes 4-6 weeks to get your card. I was told, however, when I called recently, that if you order DDE and haven't received your card before you go, you can ask at guest relations for a temp card. You can buy the AP before you leave. If you are located in the Southeast (GA, FL, etc) AAA has discounts on the AP if you are a member. (I don't know if other AAA locations have them.) They give you an exchange voucher and it doesn't become active until you exchange the voucher in the park.

Just a note on what Mystry62 said - yes, you can get a temporary card at Guest Relations, but you can't just show up and ask for one. The DDE people hand-deliver them once a day, so you need to have DDE actually leave a temporary card for you (at Epcot's guest relations). They can't just print one up - the CM's at Guest Relations has no control over it. Either there is an envelope there, or there isn't.

DDE and they said i could call and buy it after i buy the AP, but i would have
to wait until monday to pick it up at EPCOT guest relations. i want to know
where i can buy an AP before we leave. i live in Allentown, PA.

We purchased our AP online. When you buy it you request "will call" for the delivery. You then print out a voucher that you bring to the Guest Relations window at any of the parks with picture ID. They will then give you the actual AP.
We did this because we purchased the AP 2 weeks before our trip and was worried they would not arrive in time.

You can either buy an AP online from Disney, or at a Disney Store. I've done both. If you do choose to buy it before hand, save your reciepts! Don't let go of them until you have your activated AP and are in a park enjoying it.

This may have changed, but in the past if you did "will call" for your AP, you would not have the voucher numbers that you need to call DDE and order the DDE card. This was from when a friend tried it over a year ago, so it may be different now. Anyone know for sure?

problem solved...i'm getting the AP at the Disney store and ordering the
DDE ahead of time.
