buying additional days in the park

I'm going to Universal in January. We have 2 days that we can go, but we are kind of waiting to see what the weather is like before we decide. We are not interested in wandering around in a freezing rain!

So we thought we would just buy a one day ticket, and then add a 2nd day to it if the weather looks good, and we feel there is more that we want to see.

If we buy a 1 day ticket, can we add on a 2nd day before we leave the park? Is it more expensive to do it that way, or the same as buying a 2 day ticket?

Thanks,
JoAnne

It is most definitely okay to do that. You will just pay the difference in ticket prices from the gate. You'd be cheaper to just buy 2 day tickets from undercover tourist.

Here is another suggestion...Costco has 3 day tickets for $134 that don't expire until 2015 and you can use the 3 days whenever you want before then...basically non-expiry tickets until 2015 and they are park hoppers.

I don't have a Costco nearby, and I'm not a member, but my sister is. So getting a ticket there might be a challenge - but I haven't ruled it out yet.

So a single day ticket from Universal is $133.15
A 2 day ticket is $151.24.

So if I bought the 2nd day in the park, I am assuming it would be $18.09.

from undercover tourist a 2 day ticket is $148.09.

The Costco ticket is 3 days, and is $134.99. So yes, this is the way to go if I can pull it off.

Have I got this right?
