Buying a Used Car Question

well... as of right now i dont have a car because of the accident i was in back in January..and i was debating what is a better of paying for a new used car. Is it better to pay "soandso a week" or pay for the car up front (for example: a car that costs $3,000, and me buying it for that amount or talking them down lol)?

I would pay up front, & you never though they might negotiate the price. When we sold DH's truck, the buyer asked us to go down $500 & we did.

I would not finance a used car. Are you looking at used car lots? Because you will get a better deal for sale by owner. I do not trust many used car lots, they over charge and hide past damage. Look at Craigslist and the newspaper. Spend the $ to have the car checked out.
