is there a FAQ about managing 2 resorts/use years some place? I own SSR with a Sept use year and possibly getting a BC with an Aug use year. I figured it would be good to have them close together so when a contract opened up i went for it. How do you book with multiple use years. Like will they show up in my online account in 2 areas? I read some people who say it's horrible to book with 2 use years, why?
I was planning on doing split stays...so could book one resort with one contract and other with other contract. Am I missing something? Wondering if there will be difficulties I'm not aware of.

You have two separate memberships with separate dates and home resorts. If the same names are on both deeds, you can switch between both contracts via the one web account but you can't combine points at 11 months.

Twice as much work, twice the dates to keep track of, little benefit if any.

Well I wanted a different resort so I could get the 11 month window for the Beach Club. Plus I was running out of points. So I figured I could book 3 nights at the BC and then book 3 nights some place else at the 7 month window. That should work ok right?

So you are hoping to get another resort at 7 months and move each vacation?

You will read posts where people have more than one UY, we have 2 because I didn't know any better. Yes you can make it work but I prefer not to add any more work to our vacations. All it takes is one "i forgot to bank" moment to make you understand.

We have two use years. We manage the contracts completely separately and use them for entirely different purposes. If your intention is to use the contracts for the same trip, I highly recommend getting contracts with the same use year.

Multiple use years can have some advantages; additional one-time-use points, extra waitlists, and maybe some extra discounts. But the risk of losing points from mismanaging them vastly outweighs those benefits.

Well I bought from resale before they changed the policy so I don't want to lose those benefits with my original points so I wanted a different use year so it wasn't combined. But they are a month apart with use year so I'd be banking around the same time for both.
Plus I figured I'd do 2 ressies for one trip. for example...book Sept 1-4 at BC at 11th month window then do a ressie for Sept 4-7th at 7 month window using my other contract..would that work?

If you purchase the same UY, you would not lose any benefits that you are entitled to based on your existing contract(s). That new purchase would be a new subcontract under your existing membership.

I read wrong info some place then. But with resale you never know what will become available. I figured having the 2 use years close together would work out ok. Now I'm wondering if I should cancel the contract. I have 10 days.

this would work. (subject to availability.)

but i have done that and hated being "homeless" for a day - much nicer to stay in one place for the duration IMO.

I think it's easier to manage the separate UY/different resort if you use them for different vacations in each year or for alternating years. Would banking/borrowing allow you to use Contract 1 in Year 1 at 11 months, Contract 2 in Year 2 at 11 months, etc?

I was thinking this as well. One contract is 130 points and other is 100. We've been doing ok with just the 130 but we usually do a week in a 2br so it eats up points and we've been going during value season and once my nephew starts real school it won't be as easy to go during those times.

Our last trip we did a split stay at Beach club then poly. We did the parks closest to us for each resort so was always a quick commute. Beach club buses can be slow at times and it worked for us. We are rarely in our rooms midday so being homeless wasn't an issue. But I don't plan on doing splits every trip but we can if we have to

Dumb question but how will it show up in ny online account. I assume I will have 2 account numbers but one login...do I toggle between the 2 contracts or is it all in one spot but separated

There will be a drop-down to select the membership you wish to use when booking.

Not only do we have 2 UY and 3 home resorts but we split our BWV points between each UY...long story. But we can transfer points from one membership to the other and combine all the BWV to book at 11 months. We have also used points from both, at 7 month window, to book 1 stay. You just book x# of nights with one and the remaining nights with the other and have them linked (we did this for our upcoming NYE trip at HHI- booked 3 nights with Aug HHI membership and added a 4th night with June OKW membership...keep in mind that entire night points need to come from one membership (if 1 night is 24 points, you can't use 1 membership to cover 18 points and another to cover 6...without transferring). Also note that you cannot transfer banked or borrowed points...have to be current year's points.

But we can transfer points from one membership to the other and combine all the BWV to book at 11 months.
While this is true, it can get very complicated. Using the OP's August and September use years, what happens if you book a trip in August 2017? That would be 2016 points from one contract and 2017 points from the other. And transferred points can't be borrowed.
