Can anyone confirm if a loaf of bread can be purchased in the gift shop?

I remember loaf bread at the Deluxe/DVC properties. I also remember half gallon milk & family size bags of chips from my Jan 2019 Value stay. But, I can't remember bread. Do you know?

Last summer at Music you could buy a loaf of sliced bread at the gift shop along with other groceries such as half gallon milk, cereal, chips, cookies/donuts. I tried buying 4 small individual slices of bread at the food court and was charged $4! The cashier exclaimed "that's crazy, just go buy a whole loaf at the shop." I did not need a whole loaf as we were leaving in the morning so she just charged me $2.

At the All-Star Resort you can at Music and Movies, but not at Sports.

This is kind of how I stumbled upon it too, trying to buy several little milks in the food court for cereal, half gallon in gift shop = much cheaper.

I was also staying at Dolphin and went down to to food court & they wanted to charge me over $8 for a loaf equivalent of bread. :scared1:. Suddenly, overpriced Disney offerings seemed like a bargain. I walked over to BWI & bought something like a $4 loaf.

What is that?!?! I've never known them to be much different between the sister resorts, and of course I'm staying at Sports :sad2:. I feel my options would be to hop off bus at music & walk back to sports or just stop at a deluxe.

I have never seen loaves of bread at Sports or Pop. Those are the two main values we stay at. Glad to read on here that Movies and Music have them.

We bought a bag of bagels at Music. Neither Sports nor Movies had them. They were out of the block of cream cheese so the CM took me to the food court and loaded me up with the individual tubs of it. I think you will find more grocery type items at Music because they have the family suites.

Make sure you check the gift shop, not just the food court.
Sports does not have any in End Zone or Sport Goofy.

POP at one time had them in the Merch Shop, but don't "think" they still do.

It is an easy walk between Sports and Music.

When we stay at Sports,we usually find ourselves walking over to Intermission quite often as we feel the selections there are better than End Zone.:)

Does anyone know how much they charge for the half gallon of milk or the gallon of water? I may skip the grocery order this year.

@Lacoccinelle : going from memory, I believe that we paid $3.99 for a 1/2 gallon of milk at the resort. For $4 I wasn't going to bother leaving the resort to go out to a Walmart or other store.. Considering that a regular single serving of milk is $2.79+ in the food court, a whole 1/2 gallon for about $4 is a deal. Note: at some of the resorts the 1/2 gallon milk are available in the food court, and some have them at the gift/merch shop. No idea about the water price - sorry. We usually bring a couple cases with us and don't run out.

Thanks! Yeah $4 is not bad at all. We will figure out water. I just don’t like the way it tastes at the hotels. I saw some refrigerated areas in the gift shops had the gallon sized ones.

Update - I was just cleaning out my camera bag for a day-trip to Toronto tomorrow and I found a bunch of my Disney receipts. Milk @ All Star Movies was $3.49 for a 1/2 gallon in March of this year (2019).

A lot of the resort gift shops have 8 packs of 12 ounce water for about $4.

Stupid question, but what is the actual cost of a loaf of bread and a gallon of milk in Florida, outside of Disney? Here in Buffalo, those are $0.79-.99 and $1.59-$2.09. I've been sticker shocked traveling, besides Disney. (We pay more for gas. A lot more in NY).

I don't know, but a lot of Floridians shop at Publix:

Honestly, those prices arent bad at all if you think about how much they charge for ONE bottle of water in the parks. :)

That’s what we said. They had 1 case left and I happily snatched it. I saw another case in there yesterday. I think we may need another before our trip is over too. My daughter needed water and didn’t want to go to a quick service one day in the parks. The guy ended up giving her a free bottle because his gift card scanner quit working. That one bottle would have been almost the cost of our case
