I have a Graco MetroLite and I think it weighs 15-16 pounds. We are going in Feb and I was looking for a good lightweight smaller stroller for travel. Ours is not as heavy as some but is kind of bulky for lugging on the buses. So...I've looked at the
Chicco London (other chicco has no underbasket)
the Combi Savvy Soho and Savvy DX

any comments on these strollers appreciated
basket
seat depth (heard negatives on the cheaper Chicco w/ no basket having shallow seat)
handle heights

Thanks

I do not know how much help I can be as I do not own any of these, but I have test driven a london. I gave it a whirl with my 30 lb ds in it and it pushed really nice and had nice tall ergo handles. They only thing is that it weighs about 15 lbs--so it is still a little on the heavy side. Also, you mentioned the chicco that has no basket--I assume that you are referring to the chicco caddy. You can buy a basket to add to the stroller. I think that they are only about $10. I liked this stroller as well, but my dh kept kicking the back of it, so I do not think it is too great for tall parents.

I have never seen either combi you mentioned, but the only Combis I have seen seem narrow and I have heard that they are hard to steer once your child get heavier. I really do not know anything about these models, so they may be wonderful strollers. Hopefully someone with some first hand knowlege can fill you in on them.

I just got done buying 2 yellow chicco caddy strollers from ToysrUs @ $60 a piece. They are for a 30lb 2.5yr & a 35lb 4yr old. Although they DIDN'T come with a basket, they came with a nice rain cover, carry strap and a travel bag. The tires seem to be much larger than are prior umbrella strollers.(Which I couldn't stand)
I would be happy to post how they handle on the trip if you would like.
I also plan on selling at least one of these when we get home as well.

---30 days from tonight we'll be at the MK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

is there a separate bag or basket to purchase for this? we have one, but are leaning towards taking out chicco trekking because it has tha basket...

You can purchase the mesh bags to hang on the handles of the stroller (I am not sure if it would make the stroller tippy or not) at walmart of target in the baby section. You can also purchase a basket for the caddy from Chicco. I have never personally seen the basket, but I have heard that it is not very big--it is probably about the size of the baskets on all the other umbrella strollers. I just know that some people have ordered it by calling chicco (I think their # is 1-732-805-9200). I have heard that they are about $10 including shipping, but if you call them I am sure they can give you all the info.

Have you read the reviews for Chicco London on babiesrus.com? A few folks complained about loose screws. I have a Maclaren umbrella stroller that I really love. It's lighter than the Chicco but also a lot more expensive. It might be worth the investment since your baby is so young you'll get years (and hopefully many Disney trips) of use out of it.

Good luck choosing. I'm trying to decide if I should get a double umbrella stroller to bring along with the Maclaren I already have for my DD(4), DS(3) and DD(1). I just can't seem to justify the $300 for a Maclaren double. I think I'll just take the huge Graco double. I think it will be more comfortable for the baby.

We have four kids and took us four kids to discover our best stroller ever. It has been to two trips at Disney and is very easy to fold up and maneuver. It is the only stroller we use now.

It is the City Light by Graco. Weighs 10lbs and works like a dream.

Thanks for the comments. I've eliminated the Chicco London and am leaning towards the 2 Combi's. I don't seem to recall seeing MacLarens at my stores. I think they have 1 online stores (babiesrus and babycenter). Any suggestions on where to look for those?? I heard they are more $$ and that is an issue.

I have looked at the Graco CityLite but my research shows it at 13pounds..still do-able. I need to go back and look at that one again. I think it had a better basket and folding mechanism.

So any other suggestions on very lighweight, w/ basket.

Thanks again.

We have a combi Travle Savey DX (bought it after much on line research and reading at Disboards.) :D

We like it, it is light and the best thing about it is how small it folds up. Compared to McClearns we like it because it has a detachable bar across it with 2 cup holders. It also come with strap on pack for the parents for water bottles and such. We also found things "hang" off it well.

While it does have a basket, it really is useless because it is so small and hard to get things in and out of it. The canapy is great and really needed in FLA sun.

It has made it through 2 trips to WDW so far and we plan to use it again in Jan.

I haven't tried it, but I have heard good things about the Graco City Lite, both by friends and on line. We didn't get it because we thought the Combi was better folding for the bus.

If you do buy the combi consider strollers4less.com We got it for 99.00 and only 6 for S&H. (half the price we saw in any store.) Word of advice. Order in advance. It took 2 weeks just to ship it out, only 3 days for Fex ex to deliver it.

Another vote for the Graco CitiLite. We LOVE ours! It has been to DW 3 times the Bahamas once, and though NYC many times. We have had it for 2 and it's great. No problems it's very light and easy to use. I would like it to recline more but my DD has no problem taking naps in it. I'm not to sure if a very tall child would be comfortable but my DD is 30 lbs. and is just fine in it. Happy shopping:p

I LOVE my Graco Citilite. It was comfortable for my little DD when she was 6 months old, reclines well, nice shade canopy, basket big enough for a diaper bag (backpack style) and has a velcro pocket for little things that would normally fall out when you collapsed the stroller. I loved it so much I bought a second one. The canopy is removeable, which we use when we are in the mall or evenings when the kids want to be able to look around. My favorite part is that on our last trip to WDW the kids were 2 1/2 and 8 months. I could put the backpack on my back, pick up a child and then collapse the stroller with one hand (it has a collapsing mechanism on the handle and a rubber step on the back of the basket) and when it closes it locks so I could get it and us up the bus steps. Better than that, when collapsed and locked the rubber step and the back wheels form a stand, so the stroller was stable enough that I could keep it close the couple times we had to stand on the bus and it didn't roll around or fall over. It is very compact, and two stack on top of eachother well so it fits in the trunk space my original Graco TravelLite stroller took up. Assembled it weights right about 11 pounds, keep in mind Amazon posts shipping weight, which includes the packing materials and box. I will never need to buy another stroller, this has been on several trips and keeps on running!
