Just posting this because I came across some info on the web which I thought may be relevant for those thinking of buying a camera in Orlando, basically there are a couple of places that you shouldn't buy from, according to these threads.

I know Cazzie went in a camera store on ID and was charged $20 for transferring pictures from a storage card to a disc. When she came home the disc didn't work and, unfortunately, she had lost 500 photos of her first trip to Orlando. Terrible. I am now wondering whether this is the same store as mentioned in one of these threads.

Thanks for posting that information, how do they get away with it! :confused3 , i wonder if they've ever had any come back from a brit who bought from there the year before..
i always buy my cameras or anything like that from walmart, as i know then if there is anything wrong with it i can take it back to asda.

Its no different from buying something expensive in this country
DO YOUR HOMEWORK!

If you know what you want, know what the price is then stick with it.
If you wanted camera B instead of Camera A would you not have looked at it and its price before going to buy it?
If you are offered a "good deal" on camera B why rush in and buy it there and then? if its such a good deal, then they would offer it to you on another day. if not, then something smells.

Remember its you who wants to buy, you are the person in charge.
Its no use complaining afterwards, did they steal your money or did you give it to them?

I will have to have a look to see if I can find the name of the shop I went into. I know that I spent over $150 on a lens for my camera which when I looked at the pictures when I got home all the ones I took with the lens to widen the shot are blurred. Worse was the fact that I lost just over 500 photos. I blame myself after all why would someone knock down a price from $499 to $150? he tried to tell us that the only reason he was doing it as the store had been really slow that day. I took him at face value but never again it was a hard lesson to learn.

Beware the "the store has been really slow today" line. I bought a battery for my camcorder (half the price of one in the UK - did my homework). I then got offered a wide angle lens for the camera at a great deal - the store had been slow all week - this was offered in the evening when the store was empty. He didn't look too happy when I said I only wanted the battery. pirate:

I tend to trust people too but at least you have warned people about it which will hopefully stop others falling for it or losing their holiday photos. :)
