Buying 1/4 Cow -- What To Order?

Can I ask how big of a freezer you need for the 1/4 cow? Our butcher does a half and a quarter. I just buy the meat packages from him since they have variety in them. Also, how long does the meat last? We are family of four.

I purchased 1/4 of a cow last fall, for the first time. I have a lot of hamburger, roasts, steak, stew meat and flank steak. I specifically asked for flank steak as I love to marinate it and grill it. I was able to ask for specific packaging (for example: stew meat in 2 lb packages, roasts for 3 people, etc) I must say I really love the flexibility I have with a meal full of meat!

OP, if you have a dog, make sure to ask for the bones!! I do not have a dog, but I have a coworker who has two and I gave my bones to her.

I hope it's just not me. I like beef and chicken. But if I see them being killed, I would not eat it. Fish is fine, but not cows and chickens.
