I said a little.

DVC has been the biggest "splurge" item that I have ever bought.

I have to have a car or a house, but...vacations?

Anyway, buyer's remorse is a temporary feeling that you get because you are a little unsure of the purchase that you just made.

Regret is knowing that on some level you made a mistake.

I HAVE NO REGRETS!!!

Women are more likely to question themselves after they have made the purchase.

It is funny with this purchase. My husband is always our "voice of reason". He is always the one to weigh all of the pros and cons and avoid any sort of emotionally based decision. I am typically the one who could buy a puppy just because it had sad eyes and never think twice about if we had the room for a puppy or would it get along with our old girl dog or do we have the money or even desire to have a new puppy....but it had sad eyes and so I should buy it...

With DVC, my husband gave it very little thought. His answer was this - It is Disney and you know that they are not likely to disappoint in the area of vacationing. They grow every year, they will add new resorts, we can visit places we might not otherwise be able to visit and it is something that is desired by others if we ever want or need to sell.

I am still torn but we are staying for the first time next Tuesday night - just for the night we go to MNSSHP. I have a feeling my worry will melt the first time I walk through the doors and hear "welcome home".

Mickey...I totally agree with you. Biggest purchase and we just bought and are awaiting our documents via Fed Ex and I am having remorse or second thoughts because of this economy. You are so right, no regret and I am a woman definetely questioning our decision. We are going to see what this GOVT Buyout brings to the table.

Anyone's thoughts or feelings changed with the passing of the buyout??

Under Florida law, you have 10 days from the time you sign the purchase agreement to rescind your purchase. There are no penalties for rescinding.

We are still debating. Our contracts arrived today and we are still unsure. Our hearts are telling us YES as we go to Disney about 4 times per year, but our heads are saying NO, use the money to pay off the car loan.

AHHH, so confused as we LOVE Disney and we go so much with our annual passes and the money we spend at DVC would go toward our hotels anyway at other Disney resorts (usually Value resorts but they add up). We have three little ones, all under 5 and they love Disney too!

I didn't have any remorse and I really wasn't thinking incentives didn't really know much about them didn't really care either, when I took the tour. I had the intention of buying, I vacation in WDW alot (it is my escape from reality and a high stress job) and my sister recently moved to Orlando so I get to see my niece and nephew when I go there. I also get over 5 weeks vacation per year and I can do two or three vacations a year therefore I can go to both disney and some where else.

Well I do have one regret, staying in a 1 bedroom after staying in a studio, and after the 1 bedroom and the whirlpool tub I was forced :rotfl: to add on points so I can always book a 1 bedroom.

Well, now I am sitting here with our contracts and paperwork, waiting to be signed...when, to what do my wandering eyes should appear? A 22pt contract at OKW on resale. All 2008 pts available and banked if I want them to be. No dues till next year and priced to SELL. We would end up with more points (albeit, for less years - but I am being told DVC is offering extensions at the price of $20-$25pp) for the same monthly payment or less as the 160pt contract at AKV we have sitting before us. WHAT DO I DO????

My only "remorse" was that I always decided that I did not purchase enough points . . . hence, the additional contracts. :)

No remorse, ever, once we used our points the very first time. That was back in 2000 (our first points were my birthday present in 1999). My only regret is that we didn't do it sooner. (didn't want to give up any time at WDW "playing" when on vacation, and was wary of timeshare presentations. What a mistake!) Over the last decade we have been to WDW, Disneyland, done an international exchange, and cruised- every trip has been magical. Disney does it right wherever you go. And yep, back when we did it, there were no incentives except pre-paid vacations. My husband has been giving me additional points over the years, and I can't wait for Bay Lake Towers! (just had another birthday-and 10th "anniversary" as DVC members). Also:cheer2: , I set up an equation from the get-go, and Disney has always lived up to the savings promised when we bought. So yes, unless you are really stretching yourselves to do this, I can't imagine that you will ever regret your decision.:cheer2:

No regrets for us. In fact I still remember that feeling on our very first stay in late 2000 when we walked into our Boardwalk one bedroom with a Boardwalk view! 8 years and many stays later we are still very happy with our membership.

As a previous poster said when we bought in it was for a pre-paid vacation until 2042 and we plan on enjoying it for as long as we can.

No remorse - never had any big incentives either - bought OKW in 1997 - no incentives- Bought BCV and SSR pre general public sale so think we got a lower price but no additional things like APs or extra points or anything like that.

Instead of having buyer's remorse, I spent the time between when I called my guide and when I sign the contract thing about my next add-on.

Buyer's remorse? Never! My DVC purchase is the best thing that I have ever done.:goodvibes Now if I could just win the lottery I could add on enough points to retire to a 1 bedroom at OKW!!! Wishful thinking?

It has been a roller coaster of emotions for me as we waited for our paperwork and now have it in our hands. We pondered an OKW resale contract instead and have come to a final decision - stick with our AKV direct contract and start planning vacations. My vacation points tracking chart is sitting next to me and already has its first confirmed reservation on it. Our book is out and it has II resorts of interest circled and our calendar has been looked at and marked with potential vacation dates. And so it has begun - we are off to a great start of being totally in love with our "new homes".
