Hi, the disney website lists a 4 day adult hopper as $192 (advance purchase price). Can I buy a 4 day hopper at the Disney store for the same price?

If you havent purchased yet from the Disney store...I would check Hotwire savings club first. Disney store charges FL sales tax which really adds up....Hotwire does not..and, they are a few cents cheaper to begin with. I learned the hard way!!!

Yes, they do charge FL sales and use tax. All ticket media assesses that charge. It is included in the price.

try ticketmania.com also and i heard some people use alamo but i dont know what alamo is

Alamo is the car rental company. Most car rental companies have discount tickets to WDW, SW, US, & IOA ... however there are restrictions (must be used in certain # of days). I had a co-worker that got free WDW tix just for putting up with a 2 hour timeshare presentation (if you can put up with that kind of stuff).

The passes that were being sold by Alamo came from Disney and never expired.

That $192 for a 4day PH is BEFORE taxes. You would need to add 6½% tax to that for the actual purchase price ($204.48). That's the price that you'll pay at any DisneyStore as well.

Most ticket brokers don't sell PHs, only PHPs. The ones that do end up charging more than the Disney advance-sale price for PHs.

Yes..that's true....everyone "has" to charge taxes on things of that nature. I didnt express myself correctly in that post....I basically meant that they dont add on taxes after you agree to purchase the passes at the set amount..what you see is what you get. In my opinion, Hotwire is a really good deal.

The only one I know of tax-free is those who can purchase at Shades of Green but really there isn't much difference in cost between their prices and Disney's advance prices even considering the tax. Now, the stars and stripes we found to be a great bargain over Disney's UPH prices.

Thanks for clearing that up. Many dealers include the tax in the price, just a few, including Disney tack it on at the end.
I tried hotwire, but, for me, it made no sense to spend money to save it.

Also, a nice bonus of buying your tickets through the Disney store is that your receipt will give you a 1-800 number you can use to make dining reservations, etc.

Plus while you're at the store you can pick up some Disney dollars for your trip . . .

or a couple of pre-trip souvenirs . . . .

Hmmm come to think of it, maybe it is cheaper Not to buy from the Disney Store-- the temptation for little extras is just too great :)

Bought my tix today at the Disney store.
In out no one got hurt.

3 hoppers and 1 annual pass which I will have to "trade in" for an activated pass when we get there.

Saves time, effort and money.

What is the actual savings at the disney store over buying a 4 day hopper at the gate? The disney website is confusing me because they don't list tax until you add to cart.

Call ahead first ! I traveled an hour to get tickets and Disney bucks at the Disney Store in Des Moines and it was CLOSED!!! I was shocked. :(

Disney does charge $3 to ship tickets (the whole order, I believe) so that cost is pretty moot.

But the difference in buying from the website and the buying at the gate is:

Advance Purchase Prices - when you buy from the Disney Store, on-line, or over the phone, you are paying a cheaper price than when you buy at the gate or at the Disney Resorts. I don't recall the exact savings, but it is enough to be significant.

Time - when you arrive at the parks or your hotel, you will not have to wait in line to purchase you passes, you will already have them in hand.

As mad4themouse said, if you are buying park hopper PLUSES, you will probably save money purchasing them from one of the ticket brokers (even with taxes, S&H included). If you just want plain park hoppers, you will save money buying directly from Disney - ADVANCE purchase. Just be sure to add in your taxes when figuring your prices...

:)
