At Kroger, you get 1 point for every dollar spent, 50 points to fill a prescription, and 2x the points for the value of a gift card (if you buy a $25 Cracker Barrel card, you get 50 points).
For every 100 points you get up to .10 off per gallon of gas, up to 35 gallons.
Several times a year, Kroger will do 4x the value on gift cards. This adds quickly as Kroger sells Shell and BP cards, many food chains, and many non competitive retailers. They also sell Disney cards.
For example, buy a $50 BP gift card, get 200 points. Use the card at BP to fillup and then your next fillup at Kroger is .20/gallon off. If you use all 35 gallons, you save $7.00 on Kroger gas for buying BP gas. We take both vehicles when empty and fill at the same time, so we normally use 30 of the 35 gallon limit. The limit is $1 at a time.
Where Disney comes in is that you can buy the cards at Kroger to pay off your Disney trip. We are buying $1000 in Disney cards today for our upcoming trip, giving us 4,000 points. That is $1 per gallon off the next 4 fill ups. Using 30 gallons a fill times 4 fills, we are saving $120 in gas over the next few months just for buying something we were buying anyway.
