This was the best thing we did. OUr daughter, who is 5 had one made last year, and this was the first trip she wore it. EVERY cast member recognized her name tag, and called her by name. She loved it! A great way to give your little one some free DIsney Magic.

Oh and a side note, I tried to fim Philharmagic by placing the 3-D goggles (one side) over the camcorder and it worked great.

I agree with you. My DD 5 also had a Guest of Honor Badge and she loved it.
She felt so special the week that we were there. :flower1:

For us Disney newbies, what is a Guest of Honor Badge, what are the benifits of having one and how do you get one? Thanks!

I bought GOH badges for all 5 of us. LOL Our boys will be 5, 3 and 11 months on our trip...it'll be fun to see if the CM's call them by name (and dh and I too LOL!) :teeth:

That's neat about the 3D glasses on the video camera! I never would have thought that would work. :D

golfgal I believe you can get one at MGM on the right side of the street when you enter (dont recall the name of the store, but it personalizes things). Basically the GOH badge is an oval shaped pin the has Mickey or the princesses on it, and says WDW GOH. They can then personalize your name on it. Just have your kids wear it on their shirts. No real "Perks" associated with it, but most cast members, seem to look for the pins on kids and call them by name. It was neat at Animal Kingdom, all the cast members kept saying, "Jambo Peyton", which means hello Peyton. I will see if I can find the link to the website that sells the GOH pins online.

Here is a link to show you what a Guest of Honor Badge is. But you get them with your Child's name on them.

Weren't Guest of Honor Badges all sold out at WDW?
Are they now available again?

I bought our GOH badges directly from the Christmas shop at DTD. You can call them directly and they'll ship them to you...OR you can pick them up once you arrive down there (if you don't want to pay for shipping.) (407) 828-2042 I paid $6 for each one, plus tax and shipping...

Oh and I got ours back in September, so I don't know if they are available now.

I purchased a Disney Princess one for my DD from the laughing place. But they not longer carry them.(I just noticed that - Sorry) But honestly it is the best money I spent. It really made my DD trip.

My daughter got her badge on our first trip to Disney when she was three and a half. Minnie left it in the room for her. She wears it every trip and still glowa when the cast members call her by name.

I've been searching everywhere for these. We purchased some from giftsofalifetime.com last year, but we lost the one we bought for DS. We are returning this March and we would like to get another. They are out of stock at laughingplacestore.com and giftsofalifetime.com. We were able to find them at mainstreetmegastore.com, but they are $22 (a nearly 400% markup)!!! I tried calling Disneys Days of Christmas store, but they don't seem to be answering their phone today. I emailed Jane at giftsofalifetime and she said she expects to get some more in at some point, but she has no idea when. If we can't find them elsewhere, we may just have to bite the bullet and pay up to get one from mainstreetmegastore.

If you leave a message at the Christmas store, they will call you back. Everytime I called, they didn't answer, but I left a message and they'd call me back within a day. :D

I had purchased ours in November for our July trip because since it's been such an issue with trying to find the GOH pins for Disney World (seems they have been out for a LONG time), I was afraid the princess ones would disappear too. I did notice they were gone when I thought I would check to see if the GOH are back in yet (I have 3 boys that I need something for!). :(

Does anyone know if maybe they are redesigning them for the 50th or something? I find it so strange that they have been out of stock for so long because they seem to be such a popular item.

I also got that one for DD. We had CMs stop us to ask us where we had found it. princess:

I tried to purchase a new one since the one I have broke while at WDW a couple of weeks ago. The CM at the store in MGM said they had been out for a couple of months and had no idea when they were getting more in.

My DD has the princess one from Laughing Store also. I bought it for her a few years ago. It's actually from Disney Land, but it only says that on the back of the pin.

For all those looking for the GOH pins, I would highly recommend that you just keep calling the DTD Christmas store. They will give you the regular store price and then you just need to pay for shipping. Places like Main Street Megastore, Laughing Place and even Gifts of a Lifetime offer park shopping services. That basically means, for an additional price, they will physically go to the appropriate Disney store and purchase the item for you. Even if Main Street Megastore is allowing you to "order" the item, I can almost guarantee that they do not have any. They are notorious for taking orders on items that are not in stock. I have found that both Laughing Place and Gifts of a Lifetime are very reputable if you'd like them to make the purchase for you when the items are once again in stock.

I'm glad to hear they still have these - kinda. We were there 12/3-11 and could never find them... the MGM shop, DD Christmas store - both had none. I was afraid they'd been discontinued. We'll be back...

BTW, 400% WOW!!

The Christmas Store at DTD does not have any at this time. The CM told me it could be awhile before they get them again. She said it was some sort of purchasing mixup.

Oh my gosh. I am SO in trouble now. I need a Cinderella birthday pin for my daughter before we go, lanyards for everyone, pressed penny books for both kids, a Mike Christmas pin for a friend and and and the list goes on and on. WHO is going to pay for all of this so I can still afford the trip? ROFL :Pinkbounc

Our kids had these on our trip 12/18 -28th and not one CM mentioned their names! 2 regular people did say hi to DD and call her by name tho...most people were commenting on their Christmas hats...they were red/white and green jester hats and I had put a Pluto patch on DS and Tinkerbell on DD and then they clipped their GOH badges on the brim.It was great to find them in the crowds as we did see the regular red/Goofy jester hats, but none that were like ours. Many people asked where we got them. I did order the badges thru Ourlaughingplace.com as I was told that WDW was not selling them either, not personalized anyway.
