Button maker?

Can someone help a not too craftsy person try to figure out how to make a button , Like the buttons that say Happy Birthday that pin on? I would like to make my daughter one to wear that says I Graduated today or something to that effect for her to wear.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

Warning please tell instructions as if you are talking to an idiot, I am really not a craftsy person. Wish I was though

In the past I have seen a "badge maker" kit at craft stores. We were looking for one recently, and couldn't find it. I did find single packages of make your own buttons, as well as packages of 4. I think I found them at Hobby Lobby and they were on the aisle with the "kids crafty stuff" like model magic clay, crayons, and those little mugs the kids can decorate themselves. You basically pop the front off, use it as a template, cut whatever you want (picture, something off the computer, whatever) to fit, and then pop the front back on. It comes with the pin back already on it.

I have also seen places that do this online if you didn't want to make it yourself.
