I've never heard this song before. My friend told me about it when we were talking about what we wanted our father-daughter dance song to be at our weddings. I said I wanted it to be What A Wonderful World then I heard this and totally changed my mind.

It's just so beautiful. Made me cry like a little baby! :( I'm definantly using this as our song and putting little white flowers in my hair and just awe, it'd be so pretty!

Have any of you girls ever heard it before? And if you did or even just listened to it now, does it relate to you and your dad's relationship?

WARNING : HAVE TISSUES NEAR BY!

i absolutely loveeeeeeeee:lovestruc this song. my cousin had it as her father/daughter wedding dance song about 5 years ago and right then i decided that was the song i wanted. too bad im only 15 and wont be getting married any time soon

I heard it for the first time at my best friend Ally's 7th birthday party, which was a father/daughter dance. They played the song, and everyone was crying. Even all of us kids, and we were only 7! It was probably because our dads were crying. I remember Ally's dad just lost it.
And this song definitely relates to my relationship with my daddy. He said on my 16th birthday that he realized I really am growing up, but that doesn't mean I won't always be his little girl. And I agree :) I love the line, "She asks what I'm thinking, and I'm not sure" or something. I know that probably has to do with a wedding, but the same thing happened when I graduated from 8th grade.

I want to use this as my father/daughter wedding song, for sure. I hadn't really thought about it much until now, but I think it would be perfect! :thumbsup2

That was my daddy's and my song when I was little, and I have it picked out for my father-daughter dance at my wedding, which he denies happening anytime in the next 20 years :sad2: Well, I suppose I have to find a groom first, but in the mean time, I love this song.

Yeah, I've heard this song a long time ago when my dad gave it to me.
It's a really nice song ;)

I get sick a lot (a lot of health problems) so my dad sings to me when I'm in the hospital, or laying in the ER or just laying on the couch at home.

When he sings it to me, it gets to me really bad. Just sitting here doesn't really do much. Just when my dad sings the song to me I get choked up and cry my heart out.

My dad doesn't want to admit that I'm growing up. I turn 16 in 13 days. hes buying me my first car soon, hes teaching me how to drive, I'm getting a job. It's hard for him to see his first girl grow up. My little sister is only 12 so he isn't worried about her yet. Hes scared I will go off to some out of state college, and leave him and never come back. Hes wrong. Very wrong. He doesn't understand that I will never leave him. I'm planning on going to a college around here in Cleveland. I'm planning on living at home until I'm out of medical school. I just wish he realized that, and he wouldn't worry as much and hang on to me as much. I love my daddy very much.

its an okay song. i like that country song that talks about "I loved her first." dunno the title (not really a country fan. but imma laugh if the title is "I loved her first") I don't really want a big fancy wedding. i'm fine with getting hitched at the court house. So i'm not sure there will be any dances at all. (besides, the more money i save on the wedding, the more i can use for the honeymoon to disney!!)

My parents can't listen to that song without crying.

I really like that song.
But I like that song by Billy Ray Cyrus better.
So yeah.

I <3333 this song, and have for a long time.

It is SO gonna be my father-daughter dance at my wedding. :)

I've heard of it.
It's such a beautiful song.
Unfortunately it does not describe my relationship with my dad.
I probably won't be having the traditional father-bride dance at my wedding.

Same here.

I'm not sure I even like the song...I get mixed feelings over it for some reason.

That is a really nice song and yes, it is called "I loved her first".

I've known and loved "Butterfly Kisses" for longer than I can remember. I taught myself years ago to play it on the piano, I listen to it all the time, and I know every word. My father left when he found out my mom was pregnant so it doesn't describe our relationship at all. Because of this, I won't be having a father-daughter dance at my wedding. It's pretty close to my relationship with my grandpa, though (who I intend to have walk me down the isle but not have a "father-daughter" dance with).

That actually is the name of the song. It's by Heartland.
