Butterbeer ?

I think it's one of those things you have to at least try, because it's so hyped up. But to be honest, I felt it was way overrated (and I love butterscotch). It was just too much? Too sweet? I doubt I'd order it again.

I found it not that delicious... But everyone around me was loving it so it's worth a try!

how can someone go to see Potter at the darkside and not try some of the things you read about in the books or saw in the movie.....

butterbeer for one thing.... ::yes::

I'm not a Harry Potter fan, I've only seen the very first movie and that was because my friend wanted to go - she's a huge fan. But I plan to get one and take a picture of it to make my friend jealous ;)

And because I've heard a lot that it tastes like butterscotch I am TOTALLY for it.

I didn't find that it tasted like butterscotch. It tasted like cream soda to me. We thought it was good, we liked the hot one the best.

i hear you on that as i am not a pothead either.
no books or movies have i experienced.

but, i do enjoy the potter sections and rides, shops, restaurants and love the butterbeer.
same for me, i get the flavor of butterscotch when i have a frozen bb or the butterbeer ice cream

the place is all fun!

I didn't care for it either. Too sweet for me. DD really enjoyed it. The ice cream sounds good though.

mac, what would happen if you just went ahead and read the books or (the lesser option) saw the movies? Hmm....

i did try the movies twice but after 35 minutes, i stopped.
i must have lost interest since there was no blood and guts scenes and no bare chested men in it.........jk

tried the marathon HP when it was on tv last time and caught parts here and there but i lost interest in them.
commercials can kill a movie on tv.
i could see that it would be a great movie for kids, but my boys never got into that series.

i usually do prefer to read a book than watch a movie.

the books i have not tried.
figured if the movies didn't move me i might not make it through the first 4 chapters in the books.
98% of my reading is non fiction books.

what i have done in order to understand DA, Gringotts, the shops, shows, etc at the darkside is find people in the park to translate for me.
after a hundred times of riding Gringotts, i finally understand the entire ride now.
i can also find someone in the parks that are thrilled with potter and explain (and teach me) things that make the ride a complete story with the background info.

i think it is wonderful that so many children have been reading the hp series as they will develop a love for books.
and that might extend to additional readings throughout their lives.

even though i am not into the movies and books of Potter, i totally enjoy and adore the Potter sections in the parks.
everything is so detailed in those areas and awesome. so much to do and see there.
i don't know any muggle that can say it's just okay.
anyone can go into those two sections without having a background of the books/movies and still have a lot of fun there.
the entertainment they have is marvelous!

it's one of the best things universal has done so far.

I'd love an alcoholic butterbeer option, but I will take it non too.

I have heard they offer hot and cold now; which is better?
Im probably only going to try one since I will be trying to save for souvenirs. lol

I like the flavor, but it's so rich, that I have to share with someone else. What I really like is just taking a few sips of another family member's drink.

I think its all personal opinion as to which one you will like better... but I'll throw my preference in: I have tried all forms of the offered Butterbeer... Frozen, Hot, Regular & Ice Cream.... I LOVE the hot, followed closely by the regular. During my last visit in February, started off each morning with a hot Butterbeer. Took days for the craving to go away after the return home.

FWIW: if you are a APH or have an AMEX, you can get 10% off your Butterbeer at some locations... someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe its only the Butterbeer carts that do NOT give the discount. Every little bit helps! :)

38 days till I can get my BB fix again! :drinking1

disneydawn is correct !!
she knows her butterbeer and discounts.

carts do not give the discount.

i have found that getting the bb inside of hogsmeade at the bar end, is quicker and less of a line to wait in.
and they give the discounts.

I like butterbeer. Not love but I enjoy it once in a while. Also, if the lines are a walk up, you can also buy butterbeer at 3 Broomsticks and Leaky Cauldron. I got a butterbeer faster at Leaky than I did at Hopping Pot on Saturday at around 4:30 PM.

We LOVE Butterbeer and I loved the Butterbeer ice cream. To each their own.

Ok now this is what I am taking about!!! Why not combine the beerbutter ice cream with the drink? Now that would be AWESOME!!!!
