Butterbeer mugs are back

so jealous! I wanted one so badly when I was there :( I use my pint glasses but they aren't as good looking as those. Thanks for the update!

w00t! Now they just have to stay for one week-LOL! :)

Cool! One more month and we will finally be there!

Hedy I am with you only one week hopefully they will stick around that long lol

It'll be just over two weeks for us so I hope that they got a big shipment. :)

We are going NEXT WEEK!!

Wooo Hooo!! I AM going to get a Butterbeer mug!!!! :woohoo:

promised niece would get her one of those when we go back in Oct....hope they don't sell out so many so fast again....

She's got quite the collection goin on: Butterbeer tall glass (plastic), Hogs Head mug, a light up glass from Bubba's.... just need Butterbeer mug to make it complete

Sounds like everyone is going to snatch them up!

Maybe they ordered more than a 2 yr supply this time? :confused3

I'm surprised that universal didn't prepare for the merchandise to sell like crazy. I figured they'd have a vast amount of merchandise stocked up. I don't think there was ever a doubt in anyone's mind that the park was going to be popular/packed constantly during the first couple of months.

Apparently they had what they thought was a two year supply of the butterbeer mugs. They probably thought they had prepared quite well.

Except more people are probably drinking Butterbeer than riding FJ.

Did they drop the prices when the mugs were out?

They had different purchasable glasses (heavy plastic) that they used. They were more of a typical beer glass. I don't think the prices were any different for buying the different souvenir glasses.

They may even be kicking themselves for putting all that $ out on advertising.... I don't think they needed to spend what they did.

They built it.

People came.

The popularity could help feed the popularity...if that makes any sense. For example, usually when there is a refillable mug, we will get one for the family (DH & I will share, or if I'm with my parents we will get one for 3 people). When it is empty, you just go get a refill. But Butterbeer lines are so long, that unless you plan on standing in line for hours, you might as well just get one for each member of the family from the getgo. If a lot of people go from 1-2 "refillable" items to "one for each" it could deplete the supply a lot faster than under "typical" circumstances.

Absolutley right!!!

Besides imho it is better to have too much stock opening month on an attraction that should be around an decade or more than to have too few mugs and wands with guests very disappointed with their first visit.

ahh...but UO is betting people go back to get whatever they wanted that was sold out when they were there the first time ;)

I would agree for the local traveler that would be incentive to go back. However if you live 16hrs away like I do and either cannot afford a yearly trip to Orlando and/or you enjoy exploring other areas, being annoyed at poor customer service would only encorrage me to spend my precious travel dollars elseware. That way I know I will get what I worked so hard to pay for.
