I admit I've only tried the draft version so far (since it's been cold outside the past 2 times I went to the Wizarding World) but I LOVE Butterbeer!!

I'm going to be there tomorrow to test the frozen version finally.

I do get a bit annoyed when people say "it's exactly the same as cream soda with extra foam". Actually I have considered bringing a cream soda with me to do a side-by-side comparison, lol.

I'm staring at my empty mug with a sad face right now. Too bad it would take a plane right to get a refill. My favorite is the frozen, although I finally gave the regular a chance last weekend and liked it. I agree it's nothing like cream soda as I despise cream soda and actually like butterbeer.

Still give the :thumbsup2 to the frozen though. Just something about it is addicting.

I just looked at our mug too. There ought to be a way to get some. :)

We loved the frozen! I had trouble drinking any though because DS loved it so much and I refused to buy two mugs.

There are various homemade butterbeer recipes that one can find online. Obviously, some will be better than others. One seems to be particularly accurate, and does start with cream soda. (Sorry I don't have the address right now - it's at the office.)

I dream of butterbeer every day! For me, it tasted like cream soda and melted butterscotch swirl ice cream.

I bought the clear Fanta cream soda and the ice cream to try it out.

It's not the same, of course, but it will tide you over if you can't go get the real thing. The melted ice cream mixes in too quick though. It doesn't float on top like the real stuff.

But like I said...It will do if you can't get the real stuff. :thumbsup2

Ooh Ooh, count me in. I would love to have a nice frozen butterbeer at the current moment. :cloud9: I liked the regular one as well, but something about the frozen one was just a little better. Like others, I wish had access to that frozen goodness when ever I wanted. I guess I'll just have to plan a trip down and get some more. :goodvibes

I tried the frozen butterbeer vs. the draft butterbeer today...and my verdict is...draft I prefer very slightly.

I could also be biased because i tried it on another chilly day (though I wasn't outside, but in Hog's Head Pub).

Both are still excellent and I wish it was available in more places, but I know that having it only in the WWOHP makes it special :thumbsup2

Didn't try the draft, but I can't imagine anything being better than the frozen! :lovestruc Best.thing.ever! My 2 and 6 year olds agree!

By the way, what's the deal with the mugs? How much are refills for them?

I cannot wait to try it...only 2 months left....

I like the draft version, mostly because that's what they drink in the movie and books:)
It was a bit cold for the frozen but it was yummy too!

I actually like the variety of drinks in WWOHP, a great departure from the usual sodas.

There are some recipes out that will do in a pinch, but nothing quite like the original, which I'm sure is Universal's intent!:rolleyes1

There is nothing quite like a Butterbeer or three on a humid Florida afternoon.

If only I knew of the recipe...

Actually there are lots of recipes out there. This one has no butterscotch in it that I saw other than the butterscotch schnapps for the alcoholic version.
I've tried several of them and while close, they just aren't the same.

Mugglenet I believe it is, has one that is warm but you can also drink it cold.
It has butterscotch ice cream topping in the froth.

JKR said it's a combination between shortbread and butterscotch taste in her imagination and Universal got it very close.

Yeah, the butterscotch is one of the tweaks that shows up later in the thread.

While I tried it once, I will probably not drink another one, since it has far too much sugar - not good at all for my heart condition. Perhaps I'll bum a sip from a friend some time in the future.

Universal bottled Pumpkin Juice & it looked(at least in September) to sell pretty well. My Non is absolutely in love with it & with the bottle in general. But I believe Universal would make a LOT of money if they bottled the Butterbeer. I'm not sure how a frozen would work in a bottle, maybe kept in a freezer at icey temperatures for long enough but still wouldn't be able to add the head of cream at the top. Either way i'd love to be able to purchase many bottles to bring back to enjoy back here after our trip.

I think they are missing out on a very profitable opportunity if they don't bottle it & i'm sure most of you would agree that you would buy it in bottles if it were available.

How about gimmicking up a soda machine & sell water(with the WWOHP logo of course), Butterbeer & Pumpkin Juice along with maybe lemonade or another non-soda beverage in the WWOHP in bottles at one location? I'm sure it would be more than worth it in the end.

I am excited to try both the frozen and draft Butterbeer in September. I think Butterbeer is #2 on my list, right after riding Forbidden Journey!!!

I was a little disappointed in the butterbeer (frozen is definitely better than cold) but I was pleasantly surprised by the pumpkin juice.

I dunno. There are amber cream sodas that taste similar enough to just the bottom part. It is the top part that makes the drink, in my opinion. I don't think I would be spending that amount of money just for a bottle of cream soda with a butterbeer label on it.
