I keep hearing about Butter Beer served by the Harry Potter area. Ok so what exactly is it? My guess..... rootbear with butterscotch. Am I right?

This could be good!! Looking forward to trying it. Although I still think it should be made with rootbeer ,butterscotch and throw in a scoop of ice cream.

Butterbeer comes 4 ways now. Original liquid and frozen, hot and as ice cream.

Just my guess, but I think it's cream soda with a shot of butterscotch and a layer of cream on top to make it look like a draft beer. Very sweet; probably a 1,000+ calorie bomb. But quite tasty, as you might expect!

It's a glorified sweetened lard. If you like sweet lard five it a shot. To me it's garbage

It tastes like butterscotch with cream and the Frozen version is super yummy and also quite filling

i think the poster did.

i have googled butterbeer recipes but none of them turned out just like the BB i buy in the parks.
the home made ones always miss their mark for me on something missing...

Butterbeer is a mild cream soda with a butter scotch topping. If normal is too 'strong', try ice cream.

Tried it today. Wasn't too strong, just didn't care for it. Good thing four of us shared one cup because none of us cared for it.

A little factoid. J. K. Rowling I was told sampled the recipe and gave the go ahead on it. We were lucky enough to be there before Hogsmeade opened to general public. We sampled the frozen butter beer and it does taste like butterscotch and is diffently an acquired taste. My suggestion is if you are a family group buy a frozen butter beer and have a sample taste. No one in our group wanted a whole cup of it.

I don't know the real recipe, but I make my own Butterbeer Popsicles like this:

1 snack pack butterscotch pudding
1/2 cup Cool Whip
12 oz. Cream soda

Just mix it all up in a blender, pour into molds, and freeze. (It does expand a little, so don't over-fill them.)

So wait, you are saying that you make your own?
I do and my friend says it's better than the park :) There are plenty of recipes online but I find that cream soda and butterscotch topping work the best. The topping they use a team member told me it comes from some expensive machine. Cheap way is to use whipping cream.

Maybe lard means something different to that UK person. I tried the liquid and it is too sweet for my taste but many don't think it is "too" sweet. I'm going to try the ice cream version next and maybe hot when winter comes.
