I posted on the other thread about my son being hypoglycemic, so I'm thrilled that we can use the Colbert/Stewart rally as an excuse to skip Halloween at school this year.
But, actually I had a GREAT day yesterday, and it was all about getting ready for Halloween. You see, I decided to put up the Halloween decorations. And while I was putting the boxes out on the porch, my neighbour's seven year old dropped by and asked if she could help.
And the next thing you know, my fourteen year old is back from picking up pumpkins at the grocery store, and she's helping, too!
After hanging spiders and skeletons all over everything, I decided to paint some pictures on our windows, and the neighbour's child decided to help. She hung out with us for a couple of hours, painting. My daughter read her a couple of "scary" picture books, too, since she's not really reading yet. And now I've got little-girl hand prints all over my window, as well as a "scary rainbow" and some other stuff. I'm smiling every time I see it.
I love Halloween!
What do you love about this time of year?
