But they said I couldn't!

After reading the "FP for split stay" post (package followed by RO), I understand it this way: when the 60- day opens for a package, it will extend through the end of an RO. For example, I'm checking into Pop for a seven-night stay with 10- day tickets, and then I'm going to the Contemporary for two nights, RO. I will be able to make FPs through the full 10 days.

I'm just double checking, because when I made my ADRs, I found out (!) I had to do it in two phases. My 180+10 was cut off at the day I'm scheduled to check into the Contemporary. Apparently the second reservation window overrides the first. No big deal, I still got the ressies I wanted a week later, but I was surprised.

Any chance this happens with FP too? Will I need to keep my calendar clear on two separate "FP mornings" for the single vacation?

I have a similar question with an opposite situation. We are checking into POR for a 6 day stay (7 park day tickets). We decided to arrive a day early and use DVC points for AKL. The tickets are linked to our package at POR. So will I be able to make FPs for our arrival day at AKL or not?

*Nevermind! I found my answer on the FAQ page. Sorry!

Only after you go to Guest Relations or a Ticket Window to activate the ticket portion of your package, will you be able to book FPs for your early arrival day.

That's the main drawback of booking a package with tickets. The tickets don't become active until check-in date - you have to physically be at WDW to activate them early.

Follow up question - when you say guest relations, does that mean at AKL? When we check in to the resort can they activate the tickets & then we can look up FP on MDE? Or do we have to wait till we get to the park? We weren't planning on heading to the park till later in the afternoon.

Ask the Concierge at AKL. They may be able to access your POR reservation. If not, a Ticket Window or Guest Relations at your first park can activate them.
