"Busy" Times at DVC vs WDW

From what I've read, DVC has a different busy season that WDW.

In general, when are the busy times at DVC? Is this different for some resorts (i.e. BCV and BWV during Wine Festival)?

More specifically, is the last week of August or the first two weeks after Thanksgiving considerd "busy" for DVC?

When is it busy for both DVC and WDW (i.e. Presidents Week, July 4th??)

Are there specific busy times for SSR and OKW??

Yes, you have a good grasp on this. Increasingly, all WDW DVC resorts are getting booked up during the F&W Festival. It seems that us DVC owners like to drink and eat a bit! But BWV and BCV are the first to book up for F&W per the comments we've seen here on these boards. Especially if you want a Boardwalk View or Standard View at BWV.

Around Labor Day weekend DVC tends to book up, but other than that, the last two weeks of August seem to be pretty low times for DVC and WDW in general.

Any time from Thanksgiving until the end of the year is a very high demand season for DVC. The low point schedules combined with the holiday decorations and low crowds make this a favorite time of the year for many DVC owners.

DVC is very busy on all holidays as is WDW in general. Easter Break and Christmas week are especially challenging to book outside of the 11 month window, and the WDW resorts fill up quickly for those times as well.

I'd say OKW and SSR follow the general DVC patterns though due to their size they are easier to book, in general, than the other WDW DVC resorts at most times of the year. It will be interesting to see if AKV changes any of those patterns.

As noted, certain times of year are more DVC busy than Disney busy. We have also found summer months (other than time around July 4) are easier to book less than 7 months out. You also have a "resort" tightness. VWL and BCV can be more difficult than others to book most times of year at less than 7 months out because they have far fewer rooms than the others. Likewise BWV boardwalk view and lower point cost standard view can be very difficult to get 7 months or less out most times of year because of limited number of rooms in those categories. At the opposite end, OKW and SSR can be easier at less than 7 months out because they have a lot of rooms.
