If you can adjust your dates to coming in on a Monday (and shorten trip to 3 nights vs 4) it might increase your chances. Would definitively book somewhere else to stay jik it doesn't.
In my experience October became super difficult to book within the 7 month window after SSR was added to portfolio of DVC. 11 month options for BWV value studio pre Columbus Day have been a waitlist proposition for us the last two years but it has come thru.
And even that's not guaranteed at all. We've been waitlisted for a 1 BR at BCV for the week in mid-October since the 7 month window opened. Fortunately we booked a studio at the 11 month window so we're there that week, but I'm not holding much hope for that 1 BR.
We also booked BWV at 11 months out and we are actually going the week the OP is looking to book. Out of curiousity I looked at the 7 mo window (back in March) just to compare the options vs last year-pretty much all the studios were booked that week by a little after 8 that morning except SSR. This mirrored what I saw last year as well. To answer the OP we like Oct for mult reasons-F&W, MNSSHP, cooler weather than late spring/summer but still warm, low points, and historically lower crowds at the parks (though it seems to be getting much busier now).
Any time you try to book this close to a date can be a problem. October, from about the Thurs before Columbus Day to about the second weekend after Columbus Day, also happens to be one of the highest DVC demand times of the year and has been for a number of years. If you want any chance, you should wait list SSR and possibly another such as OKW or Kidani and then also check for openings online daily because something may open up that you can grab quickly online.
