My dad had a barbershop close to there. I think my brother runs it now. It's changed quite a bit over the years. Used to be working class white but I think (like a lot of places) it's quite diversified now.
The one thing I HATED about going there (don't know if it's changed) is that the people would TRIPLE PARK!!!
I went to high school in this section of Northeast Philly. Back then, it was mostly upper middle class. Nice homes, nice cars, etc.
It's quite different now.
Bustleton has become a sort of "starting point" for immigrants from Russia, India, and the Middle East. Very diversified. Still nice, but very few residents speak English
