Bussy St George and Rossny

I am trying to book a very cheap get away for a few days starting next weekend for Halloween with dd, and have found Citea Bussy St George to be really cheap. But am wondering what is Bussy like for a female and a six year old to walking between station and hotel in the dark.

Another option is the Comfort Inn at Rossny, likewise safety and area.

Also, if anyone has been I would be grateful to hear their comments on those hotels or any other suggestions for places near stations.

This is the only review to the hotel I've found, on expedia.com. Looks like its very much a "no frills" type of hotel, but we have stayed at the Formule 1 type hotels in France before and they are always clean enough, just very basic.

We stayed at this hotel and I thought it was ok. When booking, I expected it to be a bit more bigger because it said it was an "apartment" style room. We stayed in a room with one bed. The bed was only a full size and quite small and low to the ground. The bathroom was SO EXTREMELY tiny. When you sat on the toilet, your knees were hitting the door, and I am only five foot four!! And it only had a shower. The only mirror in bathroom and it is tiny. The walls are also paper thin and you can hear everything. On the plus side, it is a five minute walk to the subway and 2 stops from Disneyland. If you want to go to the heart of Paris, it is about 30-40 minutes on the train, and 1 1/2 to the airport. Plus, it was ok because we really didn’t spend much time in the room anyway!

we will only be staying for one night as it makes our flights over £100 cheaper to fly out the next day so not really fussed if the rooms are tiny, as long as its safe and clean!

I agree. We have stayed in those "no frills" hotels in France before and they are always very clean, as you say, it is only somewhere to sleep after all.

The only thing we are worried about now is getting from the hotel to the airport on time, our flight leaves early in the morning and we aren't very good at figuring out the train times

We are just back from the hotel l'elysee at val de europe and i acn thoughly recommend it ,there were a few women there on there own with children ,they run a shuttle bus to the parks and the train station is literally round the corner and its well lit and safe ,we booked through expedia and it cost £67 per night for a family room which sleeps 4.hope this helps

Hi, We stayed this Easter just gone at the Citea Apartments in Bussy St Georges. They are about a 5 to 10 minute walk from the RER. we always felt safe walking at night, through a well lit open square and along the main road. Near the RER is a fantastic shop selling pastries, cakes, sandwiches and a cheese flan to die for. There are also many shops in the main square, restuarants and a newsagent. The Citea apartments were clean, basic with a kitchen folded away in a huge cupboard. We could easily make a cuppa tea,there were pans (no kettle)and a microwave. The staff were lovely, secure car parking and locked gates. You can also have a breakfast that you pay for, I forget how much that was, we took our own cereal and went to the patiseere (sp) on our way to the RER. We would definately stay there again, very reasonable if you are on a budget like we were. We took my Mum and had 2 rooms. Good luck whatever you choose to do and enjoy your holiday.

We have stayed 1 night in the Hoilday Inn in Bussy St Georges and arrived after midnight. There was nothing to be scared of at all the streets were quiet and they were well lit.

We have also stayed in the Holiday Inn there in Bussy St Georges (did a two hotel stay as we wanted to do Paris as well) a few years back, and was very impressed with both the quality and the price of the hotel. Especially when you think how much you are paying for hotels of the same quality 5 mins up the RER

As for Bussy itself, it seems to me to be a very modern almost purpose built town, and me and my girlfriend felt no trouble at all in walking around it at night.

As has been said, the RER station is also in a well lit square, very near to the majority of hotels too

I've stayed at the citea residences in Bussy too (august bank holiday) and I was worried about safety as I was completely on my own. However, it was fantastic for the price (I think I paid £25 a night or something!) and I never felt unsafe walking back-even at midnight. Like others have said, it's an open, well lit walk and Bussy never seems to have any people there anyway. Bathroom is a bit on the small side but the bathroom door actually fills the space between the wardrobe and the room door so you can have a mini dressing room (it'll make sense when you're there). It's also really quiet. I'd stay there again.
